Hi All! I’m a newbie when it comes to finishing miniature furniture. I have a lovely unfinished chair that has some carved detail and I’d like to repaint it gold, bronze, or dark brown and reupholster it. Can anyone recommend a brand and color of gold paint? In general, what are your favorite paint types and brands to use when painting miniature furniture? Do you prime the wood before painting? If so, what do you use. Thanks in advance for your help! From the album: My First Dolls house
Bathroom tiles and flooring completed. I had to spend a lot of time making the existing door opening smaller to fit the odd sized handmade door I purchased at Miniatura. Just skirting and coving to go and this room is fully decorated ready for when I find the right fixtures. -
I had to do some clothes shopping today (ugh) but I always cast my eye over the jewelry stands, in case. And today, I was rewarded richly with these amazing earrings: The individual charms look perfect for gingerbread trim decorations, see? There were only 3 pairs of earrings left, so I grabbed them all before any of the other shoppers could even blink twice. That's about 96 charms, enough to glue to both sides of the gingerbread trim of the roof so that it looks gilded from all angles. Since Santa's House is getting a red roof with green walls, maybe I should paint the trim green as well? Or will red paint make the gold "pop" more? Or how about leaving the trim white, with the gold to give it some sparkle? Any ideas which colour would look better? Oh, and my husband suggested that a stone finish for the porch foundation walls would look better than plain paint. Sigh. More work. At least he is showing an interest!

From the album: Eternity Point
Gorgeous Bespaq armoire and the steep staircase peeking out on the bottom floor (both courtesy of Brae), along with my Hepplewhite chairs from Dejoux Miniatures. Big D has done a site inspection and I have his approval to continue with the work. After I cut the doorway to the Magnolia, I may move the staircase to the left wall. The floor design is wallpaper from a sample book. The gold medallion in the middle is perfect for the lighthouse. Brae, thank you again!!!© Lene Pieters

These fit perfectly on the trim for the roof - enough for both sides. Next question is: what colour for the trim: red, green or white? -

The chandelier drop earrings are perfect for mini use! I tried finding more online, but no luck.
