Stone blocks are all in place and the exterior walls are ready for paint. I like it with the egg carton printing showing. I think the color will be close to the egg carton color. -

The new slate floor was glued down last night and the front door still opens. Yayyy! There are a few black scuffs to touch up on the walls. Ceiling beams have also been installed. I'm so happy with my progress! Got home from work and my first half scale furniture was in the mailbox. The chairs and table downstairs will probably live in another house.- 6 comments

The walls and floors are glued together. This feels like a big landmark, evidence that progress has been made. -

View of the chimney in place. I was hesitant about the size of the chimney, thinking it was too large for this small house, but I am pleased with the proportions now. -

Fire box is cut to fit and bricks have been scribed. Awaiting paint color decision. -

Chimney is made of 1/4" and 1/8" basswood and 1/2" balsa, with some trim (chair rail maybe?). Chimney pots are 3/8" x 1/2" wood spools. -

Windows are painted, assembled, and glued in. The door is scratch built and pin hinged so it is a working door. I've started the chimney structure. I'm anxious to glue things together so I can start on the exterior block walls.-

Some progress has been made. Walls have been spackled and painted. I managed to get the slate floor toned down a bit. I've started on the fireplace. I wanted a feeling of "something is finished" so I built a bed. Excuse the Captain's unkempt bed. He is not a meticulous housekeeper. Time to break the house back down and get busy again!-

The watercolor paper slate pieces have been glued to a template. I like the color and the color variations but am not sure about the texture. Before I cut the tiles I sealed the paint with a satin sealer. It looks too glossy to me. The sealer also made the texture of the paper more apparent. It almost has a wood grain look. Maybe I'll try lightly sanding it. Maybe not. I may start over. -

Slow progress. The four entry windows will be closed up. Foam chimney mock-up. It might be too overpowering. I may cut the width by about a third. Still need to sand everything. -
