Sunday 1/5/14 Yesterday, the stove kit was started. We took a break after 3 hrs to let the glue set. All that was left were the feet and the knobs, and small final assembly. It was completed today. I don't think I'm going to use the stove "tile mat" that came with the stove. I don't care for it and most of the 1900's stoves I've been looking at don't seem to have anything on the floor under the stoves. So I think I'll omit it or create something else to go under there. All in all I love the stove and total work time was about 3.75 hours.

I've put the sewing machine away and am going to get Opal finished. We've decided we hate the pink paint upstairs and are going to repaint with a light yellow . Spent a few hours sanding and painting the trim and are now going with a yellow stucco finish with green trims , I think . I'm forcing myself not to start on the farmhouse and barn until O's done .

With my new work space out front , I can start another build , but can't decide between the Loganberry or the Magnolia . I would like to do a windmill with the Loganberry but it insists on being a barn , which would be cute , going to try and change it's mind, but we all know once they decide there's no going back. The Magnolia is awesome ! It is going to be a country farmhouse ,such nice big rooms , no bashing plans yet , but that could change. As soon as the Orchid is finished the Brookwood has claimed it's spot , it is going to be a modern bachelor pad complete with a bar and pool table , oh and an added lower level. So help me decide - the Magnolia or the Loganberry ?

Has anyone built a Carlson Victorian Bay Window kit ?
Stacey6163 posted a topic in General Mini Talk
Has anyone built a Carlson bay window kit ? The top and bottom are MDF ( which I 've never worked with ) and a TON of little wooden pieces . It will take hours if not days to put together , if I even can . And kind of funny , a window kit that doesn't come with the " glass " . It will definitely be a challenge . -
Stock image of the finished kit with all accessories and lighting assembled. The kit also includes a built-in music box. One of the two Chinese brand dollhouse kits I ordered is due to arrive between Tuesday and Thursday of next week. Since it was shipped overseas, all of the glue had to be removed from the kit (which I think only included white school glue anyway). I'm beginning to feel very excited for the kit to arrive so I want to prepare the tools and glues I will need ahead of time! This is a stock image of the materials included with the kit. It includes all wooden pieces pre-cut and most pre-painted, fabric and wire and other accessories for furniture, paper pack with pre-cut wallpaper and other accessories, lighting kit (must be manually wired), and music box. Some pieces are unpainted wood, some are painted, some clear acrylic plastic, metal, cloth, and glossy paper. Would Aleene's Tacky Glue be a good multi-use glue for this kit? I'm trying to cut down on costs and I'm trying to avoid buying a dozen different types of glue. On-hand I also have a high temp hot glue gun and strong double-sided tape. I'm hoping to use Aleene's for the majority of the kit, including painted wood, unpainted wood, plastic, and fabric. I might attempt using the double-sided tape to attach the wallpaper and other paper accessories since I'm worried about the paper buckling with glue. I have my hot glue gun for the metal wires. Would those adhesives be good enough for this project? The other tools I have on-hand are emery boards, sand paper, wooden skewers, toothpicks, x-acto knife, masking tape, clothespins, small screwdrivers used for computer hardware, sponge paint brushes. Should I pick up anything else for completing this kit? I'll use this thread to post my progress

For sale is a the HUGE and gorgeous Real Good Toys Queen Anne dollhouse kit. It's been stored in the closet of my apartment for a few months now. Thought for sure I was going to build it, but I realize that my boyfriend might not fit in my apartment with me if I do, haha. The shell pieces are in their original box. I took the second box of components and shingles and put them into a big, Rubbermaid tote. So, I'd prefer not to ship it. I'd drive to meet someone halfway. I'm about 50 minutes South of Boston. Message me or email me at crabby girl 13 at gmail. (Put it all together.) I don't have a set price in mind, so we can figure something out if you're interested. I'm just interested in finding someone who'll build this gorgeous house and enjoy it. I'd take some things in trade too. I'm looking for a Greenleaf Laser Cut Chantilly, a Beacon Hill, or an Artply Barrington, Carlson windows and doors.

Hi, all! My Gloucester kit arrived today. My first dollhouse! I was leaving home just as the UPS fellow walked uo... fortuitous that I'd not left 30 seconds earlier, or it would have sat in the rain all afternoon! To warm up for starting to build it this weekend, I'm starting the GL bedroom kit. Wondering what people more knowledgeable than I (i.e everyone) have used in place of the cardstock mirrors that come with the lit. Are real mirrors the only option? It might be hard to find the right size and I'm not super-psyched to start cutting my own glass. Also, I'd love to see what folks have done with this kit... I searched the gallery but didn't find a lot.

Hi all. I have a Greenleaf 1/2" Fairfield house that i bought off if Ebay not realizing it was 1/2 scale, and I don't like working but in 1"size. Before trying to sell on Ebay, i figured id ask here if anyone would be willing to trade it for a house kit they may have laying around in 1'size and I'll ship the Fairfield to you in return. I'm not really particular in what I'm looking for and open to anything Longs it's regular scale. The Fairfield is in the box and was open to make sure all contents were there. All pieces, wood, window sheets, and instructions are all there. If your interested in buying the house instead of a trade, let me know. Shoot me an email or leave me a message on here. I do hope to find someone with a house tho so i could work on that. As i stated I'm not picky n open to pretty much any type if house. Id be willing to pay for s+h . Ill give this about a week or so n see what type if response i get. Thanks everyone in advance. Hope to hear from you. Have a good one. If you would like pictures of the kit, please let me know and ill message them to u. Thanks again, Kris

My latest find. This was in NE Philly on Craigslist. I got it for $40 and the guy delivered it to my hotel. Normally I take them on the plane with me as checked luggage, but since I am in a walking boot I made a stop at FedEx Office on my way to the airport. I can't wait to get started! -
Friends, I need your help ... Is there a safe and interesting site that works with PayPal where I can buy a kit? But the site also must be able to seamlessly send goods abroad ... And remember that I am beginner

This little beauty came to me through a work acquaintance. He knew I was into minis and had a friend selling a kit. I was "ambushed" outside an office in Roanoke as the guy thought I agreed to buy it. I hadn't even spoken to him. I threw a $50 figure at him thinking he would balk. I barely got the amount out before he yelled "SOLD!" It came with eight furniture kits. the sides and floors were hot glued together. I spent an hour and a half in my hotel room with a clothes iron heating it up and pulling it apart. I only uploaded one pic, but TSA put a huge amount of tape around it. It is a good thing the boxes aren't collector items. -

The foundation in pieces when I was done. Another Craigslist find. This one was in Lynchburg, VA and I picked it up for $40. The stairs and foundation were hot glued. I was able to fit the stairs in my suitcase, but spent a couple of hours that night in my hotel room with a clothes iron getting the foundation apart so I could get it in the box, tape it up and check it as luggage. Foundation before and after pics are shown. They had used stone textured paint around the bottom which made my little "heat and peel apart" project a little tougher. -

Hopefully the Hofco kit I just bought will look something like this when I am done. -

I have a partial Artply Highland kit if anyone is interested. I bought it on Ebay, but probably at least 1/2 of the parts are missing. I'm giving it away for free but I just ask you pay the actual shipping cost.

Original instructions for The Washington Dollhouse Kit
Lips posted a gallery image in Members' Gallery
From the album: The Washington Dollhouse Kit Instructions
The instructions came on one large sheet and the schematic drawings on another sheet. I had to cut the sheets in half in order to scan them. I added symbols on each piece so all you have to do is match the symbols to know which piece goes where. Ive uploaded instructions for The McKinely Dollouse Kit and The Gazebo by Real Good Toys. Their in their own albums.-
