  1. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

A painting of Thorny Rock's famous(ly tiny) lighthouse watches over the scene. The shutters are open to take orders from outside, and let out some of that wonderful-smelling steam from the next room. Fresh fudge is being cut, paper plates and popsicle sticks are ready for candy-orders and taffy-pulling, a plate of cookies sits on a low barrel for the kiddies while mom and dad shop... ... I hope Bonnie doesn't spot the cookies!
  2. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

There's Thérese's sweater-jacket, hanging on a coat rack, and Bonnie, the Aucoins' golden retriever, waiting at the door... does she hear something outside? Eager children, playing in the snow?
  3. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

I love views through mini doors and windows. "What the neighbors see." Looks like there's a pizza on the workbench. Somebody must be pulling another late, late night of work in the sugar shack!
  4. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

Art hung on the wall, leather jacket slung over the stool at the desk, and a calendar ready to bring in the new year. The contest deadline is getting close, I can feel it!!!
  5. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

Painting over the fireplace, old cauldron hanging on a fireplace crane inside the huge stone fireplace (barely visible—it's dark in the fireplace!), antique saws hanging on the walls and all... but still it needs more...
  6. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

Lot of details being added. Hanging over the spigot of the evaporator you see a bucket of syrup, as if one of the Aucoins has just pulled a small amount to check for quality.
  7. From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop

Beginning to get all the furnishings and accessories into place. In this overhead shot of the sugar shack, the "working" half of the two main buildings, the evaporator can be seen, now with maple sap in both sections, slowly boiling down into syrup. The faux syrup is stained-glass paint, which when dry, is shiny like a liquid, and translucent enough to let all the faux painting on the sides and bottom of the evaporator show through, just as hot sap on its way to becoming syrup really might.
