    Rat with Teddy Bear

    From the album: Miscellaneous Minis

I love this! Real rat with a couple of miniature teddy bears. I see a whole new line of minis for pets!

This will go into my Federal Manor eventually but in the meantime these business men are meeting for lunch at the diner. (Just a backdrop, not a dollhouse)

  3. If you are within driving distance of Louisville, be sure to stop by this year's miniature show on Saturday, October 25 from 10am - 4pm. I had the opportunity to sell there last year and they do a great job of promoting the show. It says "over a dozen" vendors. Unfortunately, they have not posted a list of vendors. I can tell you that I will be there. Other than that, it will make for a nice surprise. Hope to see you there! Below is the link to their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/events/1679681848924349/
  4. From the album: Micro Georgian Townhouse

The lights were not part of the kit, nor of the planning, so I had to design this myself. I had thought I could run the wires down the sides of the chimneys but that wasn't very feasible. So I drilled holes to run the wires through the wall.

  5. I am coming in on the home stretch of my micro (1:144) Georgian Townhouse and will be running the wires for six lights down the outside wall on one side. I would like to hide it with foliage, preferably a rose trellis. I don't have time to learn how to make the flowers in that scale. I know there aren't a lot on this forum working in the micro scale, but does anyone have a preferred place to buy greenery in that scale? I've been browsing all day on the train sites (it's N scale) and found a few places, but thought I would ask here before placing an order. Thanks.
  6. Hey guys, so my school is doing a scholarship contest with LG, so I took the digital photography of my kitchen and added an LG logo to my dishwasher. My school is MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) This is a great way to potentially give miniatures a little mainstream light as well. Miniatures are a new venture for my visual art and I hope to bring them to more people's attention! You have to have pop-up blocker disabled and log in with facebook or an account. Every vote counts and I really appreciate the time and effort you put in if you decide to vote. Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum everyone, as well! http://lge.23video.com/video/10049338/lg-dollhouse
  7. Hi guys, are there any shows near Baltimore upcoming? I looked on schedules but didn't see a whole lot. I was thinking there has to be some sort of Maryland miniature events. Thanks!
  8. This was my first adventure into the miniature world. I have been learning so much, and employing techniques that I've found from a hoard of sources, including my own resources with a 3-d printer at my art college. I would love to get opinions/suggestions/general feedback. My next project will be rephotographing and deconstructing these room boxes to make them better with what I've learned, new kits I've found, and re-building things from old kit plans with a 3-d Printer I found difficulty with the toilet and tub, so I want to work on those. I was able to print the faucet for the tub from a 3-d printer, but was wondering if anyone knows of any existing realistic tub faucets. My other problem area was definitely the kitchen cabinets. I was dissatisfied with the Kitchen Collection kits - if anyone has any kitchen cabinet suggestions that would be appreciated. I made the dishwasher myself and 3-d printed the knobs for the stove and dishwasher, and repurposed stickers from the realife miniatures kitchen set. I want to redo the stove and fridge by printing them in plastic from the plans from this kit, and painting it to look more metal/fridge like. I built the bathroom vanity from scratch, using a countertop I found from a mini-maker on ebay. I would also like help on bathroom countertops - I wasnt able to figure out what material this mini-maker used. My favorite venture was the wallpaper, which I manipulated in photoshop and then printed onto 90 lb printmaking paper from a standard computer printer. Also, what mini-tools are best for working with metal? Such as creating realistic door hardware. such as Frances Glessner Lee made with her Nutshell Studies? And does anyone have suggestions for mini table saws or circle cutters for wood/stone? If the pictures are too small, let me know I can link to my website. I'm not sure how they will showup int he forum post Thanks guys!!

    M Kitchen

From the album: My First Dollhouse

The second shelf of the bookcase was the kitchen. The icebox in the previous picture went against the blank wall on the left. The stairway is fake, of course, just to give the illusion of a stairway and doors opening into it. The brass lady is a bell - one my daughter used to keep by her bed to call us if she needed anything. On the table are some loaves of French bread and a cake - those are ceramics my daughter made. The splatterware coffeepot on the stove was also a ceramic one she made.

    L Icebox

From the album: My First Dollhouse

This was another pattern in my book and was a lot of fun to make. The paperclip is there just to hold the lid up for the picture. It's all wood, and I painted part of it silver to resemble the metal interior of an icebox.

    New Bathroom

From the album: My First Dollhouse

The laundry basket is a solid piece of wood, covered with a basket-weave fabric, and gouged out at the top to make room for a few "clothes" - which are scraps of cloth.

    Bathroom

From the album: My First Dollhouse

After dismantling the bookcase dollhouse, I recycled the Chrysnbon bathroom kit into a roombox. This is the second rendition of it - the first one was made to fit the bathroom window of our home, but when we moved it didn't fit the next house, so I redid it to fit on a shelf.
