Nature began to reclaim its own, and the basement door was almost hidden by bushes. Martin noticed the old wagon wheel, and remembered the family legend about his grandfather and uncle being stranded.© CheckMouse

Then the Great Depression hit (Grandpa lost all his money), followed by WWII, and the cabin was used less and less. The kids grew up and started their own families. Finances were tight but Grandpa always kept the taxes paid.© CheckMouse

Martin has just arrived at the old family cabin, located in the Northwest woods, that has been in his family for four generations. He and his siblings are trying to decide if they are going to keep it or sell it.© CheckMouse

This build is set in a cupboard, so the back and right sides are not visible. I added a back wall to the house, and the roof is removable for access and better visibility.© CheckMouse

Hi everyone! I'm back. I'm not sure if this is the right place, or if this post is appropriate. But I am SO excited about this I can't stand it and wanted to spread the word. I had the idea of making a website where dollhouses could be made as paper models (furnished and everything), and I'm also including some printable miniatures for regular builders. All of the items are in "digital kit form" and available for instant download. Anyway, my latest creation is a huge set of printable publications. I've worked out the bugs on how to do ACCURATE double sided printing via a simplification in calibration that works for any printer, and I digitally remastered a bunch of public domain publications. This kit includes 2 books, 4 magazines, 6 comic books, 9 antique maps, 1 atlas, and 4 newspapers). Once constructed, they are able to be read under a magnifying glass, and I include very simple and thorough instructions. I would love it if anyone interested would go and take a look at the site, and tell me what you think. Here's the link: KINETIC PAPER ART- Dollhouse Miniature Books w/ READABLE PAGES Digital Kit And here are a couple images of the finished items. So what do you think? A worthwhile project to pursue? Buying ready made items like this individually costs a fortune.

Two photos here. I made a pair of miniature end tables, that can be placed beside eachother to make a sideboard. More info here; http://kyle-lefort.deviantart.com/art/Miniature-Stained-Glass-Side-Board-End-Tables-380980878© Kyle Lefort 2013

From the album: Room Box for My Sister
This cabin came with a dividing wall, but since I was wiring it, I didn't want to use it. I added the fireplace, sink/stove cupboard, and a bed. I was aiming for a sofa but after I got it in there it looked too big - so it's a bed!© CheckMouse

From the album: Room Box for My Sister
Both my sister and I have red hair, and we are about 12 years apart, so I bought these dolls to put in the roombox. The younger girl came with red hair, but the older one (bought 2 of each) was a blond. So I repainted the hair.© CheckMouse

I then put a piece of foam core on top of the picture, painting the inside framing a dark brown so it wouldn't show white anywhere. I have hollowed out a couple of chanels and run electric wires through the top of the foamcore, leaving 2 LED lights to shine down into the "kitchen" ...© CheckMouse

From the album: More minis I've made
I've made a few chaise longues recently for my Etsy shop. This one was made from a different kit made of mahogany and I decided to cover it with leather - my poor fingers can tell you a tale. I rather like this one and am wondering if it will fit in my next project so I may keep this one for myself.- 10 comments

From the album: The Borrowers in Washington
Just made a calendar for my Borrowers Book - I took a screenshot of my Outlook Calendar (the little one on the side panel), took that intoa new label file in Print Shop, selected a picture from my files (this is one I took near our house last winter), made the top picture the same size as the bottom calendar - grouped them all together and exported the .jpg - and voilà, a current calendar for my mini! This is for a large wall-calendar, so it's 7/8"w X 1 5/8"h. By printing it on an address label it's pre-glued for easy sticking - and address-label paper is heavier and nicer than regular paper.© CheckMouse
