I'm new to this blog so I apologize if this post in the wrong place, but I thought it would be neat for people to have a place that they can post information of new dollhouse artist sites they come across. I've just found a new site called "Dollhouses Galore". I was connected with her on Facebook, and now I see she has started her own site to gallery showcase her work. She has at least 7-8 of her completed houses on it now. Her work is unique, and I came across her when she posted an octagon castle. Wonderful stuff to see! Here's the links directly to my favorites: http://dollhouses-galore.weebly.com/octagon-castle-tower.html http://dollhouses-galore.weebly.com/riverview-mansion.html

As soon as I saw the box, this is what I envisioned. (We all know a miniaturist's brain works on a different level.) People only ASSUMED the mice were all quiet!© Checkmouse

Drawer pull feet with button bases, plaid fabric covered sides. Not too shabby for my first try, I think!- 1 comment

The mugs on the etegere have her family members' names on them, the table and chair are from the furniture she gave me with the dollhouse when I bought it. She loves digital photography and her late husband was a contractor. He was also in the military. Both of my parents are in the Air National Guard, so it touched her that I was the one taking ownership of the precious dollhouse her husband bought her. I included a handmade memorial flag display case (my Dad helped me make it-- hoping he will get bit by the miniature bug too!) And of course, I put in a dollhouse because that is what it all centered around.- 3 comments

All the mice are Hallmark Ornaments. Just be aware that when they say, "Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse" -- that might not be true!© Checkmouse

They actually were very busy ... well, most of them. The littlest guy crawled into his matchbox bed and went to sleep. There was sewing to be done, presents to select from the 1001 Cheeses catalog ...© Checkmouse

This project was for the NAME Hallmark Ornament Contest 2014. The only rules are to use an unaltered Hallmark Ornament - and create any scene you want. I chose to use a house in an outdoor setting, inside a roombox.© checkmouse

This is the from the series: Nostalgic Houses and Shops; #28 Arts and Crafts Bungalow, done in 2011. The inside has a Christmas tree. I figured the house is HO scale, or 1:87.© CheckMouse

This was the hardest miniature to photograph that I have ever done!! Hard to get the camera in at the right angle, and to get the lighting in the right place! Here's a better view of the front of the house.© CheckMouse

Because the house can't be turned around, I placed a small mirror in the corner to show the interior, and added a light pole to illuminate the back. I would have preferred to add the light to the top of the house, but was not allowed to alter the ornament in any way. I used a small LED from Evans Designs, threaded it through a small latte straw, and added beads top and bottom. The roombox is finished except for the outside wiring - have to hide all that. For now the switch is just scotch-taped on!© CheckMouse

I found many on-line tutorials for miniature hats before I pulled together some of this and some of that and started making mini hats. This box contains my practice collection.- 1 comment

Cake decorating is really teeny tiny work. These are some of my practice cakes. Next, I'm going to try making a whip cream frosting.- 1 comment

I absolutely love making these little clay teapots. These three are my favorites. One day, I'll have a mini kitchen or Tea Shoppe and they will have a proper home.- 1 comment

This was the kit designated for NAME Day and I had a lot of fun putting it together. I've glued the cushions down with rubber cement so I should be able to remove and replace them if needed.© checkmouse
