    Crib

From the album: Half scale furniture

Here's a better view of the ruffle under the crib, which is made out of a piece of a free Restoration Hardware fabric swatch (you can order these from their website). The swatch already had the scallops cut into it. The crib is an eBay purchase, it was originally glossy white and I painted it Tuscan Beige to match the rest of the nursery furniture. I made this changing table out of a Cassidy Creations bureau kit by adding strip wood to the top to hold the changing pad. The pad and the crib mattress are made from Itsy Bitsy Mini printed fabric that complements the wallpaper in the nursery. More details on my blog: http://www.emilymorganti.com/blog/?p=11679

  3. From the album: Room Boxes, Etc.

Baby Olivia's nursery room box! I made this for the baby shower and was quite pleased how it turned out. It matches her RL nursery theme.
  4. From the album: Room Boxes, Etc.

I found this adorable crib on ebay - it matches Baby Olivia's RL crib. I printed out the quilt picture as an iron-on, then draped it over the crib rail. I chose purple fabrics that matched the crib setting set as closely as I could and dressed the mattress and made a matching chair pad for the Bespaq rocker.
  5. From the album: Room Boxes, Etc.

In this detail photo you can see the items on the shelf a bit better: I made a couple of assorted baby item boxes, the books, the contour changing pad, the diaper box and the butterfly rug. The shelf was one of those plain, unfinished ones - I added a bit of trim and little pegs to make it more 'girly'. The changing table came from ebay and was unfinished. I stained it to match the crib as best I could, then painted the drawers in the pink and purple theme. The contour changing pad was formed with cold porcelain and covered with fabric (dang, you can see the glue spot!). The wee pacifier, rattle, blankets, piggy bank, bottles and that adorable white outfit with the teeny booties all were purchased at Ron's Miniature shop in Orlando by my DIL.

    Olivia's crib

From the album: Room Boxes, Etc.

I was able to find self-stick letters in a craft store that were the perfect size for this room box! I printed out a few butterflies to add to the wall. I installed an LED battery light, but it doesn't throw off much light. I was wishing I had purchased some of that LED strip lighting for the ceiling to give more illumination. The sweet little rocking horse and toys also came from Ron's in Orlando.

    Crib Restoration

From the album: Country House - Album 2

On a side note, my friend Maureen restored this wicker crib for me. Prior to the restoration, most of the spindles were out, and it really needed a paint job. My almost 94-year-old aunt covered a sponge that I used for a mattress with orchid and white material I purchased at the Philadelphia Miniaturia, and the matching pillow was purchased at the Dollhouse Factory in Lebanon, NJ. This will go in the orchid and white Beatrix Potter nursery in my Garfield house that is out for renovations - but that is another project for the coming year.
  8. Those of you who have followed my posts may well be aware that my Garfield house is out for renovations. God knows I have mentioned it enough times, as I am very excited about this. The most exciting part is that I got to pick out the wallpaper, which was as much fun as Christmas mornings when I still believed in Santa. I was very happy to find a purple and white checked wallpaper for the nursery. Several years ago I saw a purple (or perhaps it was listed as either lavender, lilac, orchid, or violet) and white nursery set for sale, and that really sold me on the idea of using this color for my Garfield nursery. Now that the room is becoming a reality, I can no longer find this set online. I want to use a Peter Rabbit/Beatrix Potter theme for the nursery, and most of the cribs and bedding are in pink and blue, and sometimes a yellow or a green. Purple nurseries are rare, and Beatrix Potter bedding in purple is practially unheard of. There is a cute crib set, including a Peter Rabbit blanket on eBay, but it is in pink, and I almost changed my wallpaper order from purple and white to pink and white so I could be open to more possibilities. However, I really don't want to do this because if I find what I am looking for at a later date, I will kick myself for changing the color. I already have a nice white wicker crib I can use, but I am looking for a lavender and white checked crib mattress and a lavender blanket to drape over the crib. It doesn't have to be a Beatrix Potter theme, but that would be nice. Any suggestions as to where I can look?
