When you are making a pinning board from a ceiling tile and you cover it with graph paper, which side do you cover? I assume it’s the side with the least holes.

Making things out of paper is my favorite thing to do. I use the old outdated Microsoft Paint to create the graphics and XnView for printing them out. I replicated the box for my Mc Kinley dollhouse kit down to the last detail, shown in the top picture. The other boxes came from my imagination. All the boxes come with instructions and wooden pieces as shown in the lower picture. -
I'm wondering if the flower/plant makers among us would know the best paper punches to use to make flowers and leaves with. I've read that punch bunch makes some good ones but they have several sizes and I'm not sure which to go with. Are the mini size or the small size better. Also for larger leaf plants such as ferns should I go with a medium punch. Also with flowers, should I layer a mini punch flower on top of a small punch flower for variation? If anyone with expertise can point me in the right direction I'd be much appreciative. In particular I want to make some geraniums for window boxes but I also want to make some Hydrangeas and maybe even some gerbera daisies all complete with leaves of course! :D

I took a break from working on the houses to create some flowers based on my own designs. These are bearded irises and parrot tulips. Both of these plants come in numerous color combinations in real life, so it's fun to try different things.© DAL Minis

Okay, so sometimes you can peel off wallpaper. In this case, it was too brittle and had too much paste. A little mixture of fabric softener and water plus a stiff bristle brush and some elbow grease and it all falls away... -

I recieved so many nice comments and requests for a tutorial on how to make the paper pottery and bowls that I've been posting online and selling in my Etsy shop. And I finally got around to it. I'm making the bowls right along with posting, so it's getting broken down into parts. Miniature bowls. I made these over the course of several weeks. Materials; Paper-various (I tried to use scraps from larger projects) Elmer's glue Acrylic gesso and paint polyurethane That's right, they're paper, but between the glue, gesso, and the polyurethane they end up being pretty sturdy. If I rememeber right, this batch lead me to try and do other types of pottery, most of which ended up in the basement of my Steampunk house. Some of these are part of my collection, and others sold at a local show. I know the rest are packed up somewhere, but I haven't gone through that bin in a while, so I'm not sure how many are left. They are made of up-cycled paper, that has been rolled into tight coils, and then formed into their own unique shapes/sizes, held together with plenty of glue. After drying, they were painted with gesso, sanded, and then carefully painted with red acrylic paint..They have been sealed with Polyurethane, which in certain lighting gives the bowls more of a red-orange color, as well as a glossy, glazed pottery type finish. 2 mini Faux-metal bowls 3 mini Plain brown paper bag bowls 2 mini Faux-Tin can vases I made many of these, but this is the set available on eBay; http://www.ebay.com/...=item417d5c6fa3 Real materials/process; They are made from up-cycled paper/cardboard, that has been rolled into tight coils, formed into various shapes, and held together with plenty of glue. After drying, the "Faux metal" bowls/vases are painted with gesso, sanded, and then carefully painted with metallic/other acrylic paint, in a style that creates a faux- tarnished metal effect. The "Paper Bag" bowls are left their natural paper color. They have all been sealed with clear polycrylic for stability and additional shine. They resemble glazed pottery, but if you accidentally drop one, no worries, paper doesn't crack or shatter.© Kyle Lefort 2013

Three of the interior walls, three exterior walls, the interior floor and part of the roof reduced to a small pile on the garage floor. The funny part is that it only took about 15 minutes after I dampened it with the solution. -

Okay experts, Will scrapbooking paper hold up as wallpaper? I keep imagining that I'll have to paper to cover up electrical tape but I'm not crazy about the majority of wallpaper options out there. I'm just not a busy busy pattern girl. I was thinking a nice textured scrapbook paper would look nice provided it would survive the application process. I also like the idea of being able to see the paper in person rather than ordering online (Hobby Lobby). May also consider doing a stucco like finish. Everything is new to me so I'm still scared of everything.
