I didn't start on the roof until we got home from vacation.
  19. From the album: Elsie's Garden Shed

I used a set of Darice LED fairy lights. The battery pack just happened to look kind of like an electric box so I went with it. I added the rust, cabochon with printed meter face, then ran the wiring through a plastic straw and up inside the shed.
  20. From the album: Flowers and Plants

I took a break from working on the houses to create some flowers based on my own designs. These are bearded irises and parrot tulips. Both of these plants come in numerous color combinations in real life, so it's fun to try different things.

    Tudor Cottage

From the album: Tudor Cottage, 1:24 Buttercup Bash

Flowers! I'm planning a small abundant cottage garden in front of Tudor Cottage. These 1:24 scale lilies are from a kit Brae gave me for my b-day last year and are from The Miniature Garden https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheMiniatureGarden You assemble these plants petal by petal. The two flowers on the right I dry brushed with some chalk pastel to get the soft pink. Georgie at The Miniature Garden recommends sacrificing an old tooth brush to make the stamens. I tried this with one I have that has very fine soft bristles, but I could hardly see them or handle them. My regular toothbrush bristles looked too large for the scale to me, so I used thread that I colored with a Sharpie and then cut tiny lengths. I dipped the end in glue and positioned it in the center of the flower. Then once dry I teased the strands apart. I think it works for the stamens. So, six lilies down, a gazillion flowers and veggies to go, LOL! I've placed an order for more kits so it's time to practice making flowers. I'm happy with this first try. Oh, those are my beading tweezers. They are used for knotting, but worked like a champ for handling the tiny parts.

  23. From the album: Cosy Conservatory (Greenleaf Greenhouse)

Surrounded by lush turf and luxurious plants, this sweet little greenhouse is a delightful sanctuary from life's stresses. Inside you'll find a rocking chair beside a table holding a pretty potted Coleus, a pair of scissors and thread, a cup of tea, and a plate of brownies. There are books to read (and the cutest little apple bookends you ever did see) and a dollhouse to play with, and lots of beautiful plants and flowers to nurture. Outside are gardening tools and even a puppy to play with......and a sassy little rabbit to make you laugh. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have all this in real life?
