I'm fed up with the tiny miter box and the craft knife for cutting wood! That's what happens when you are used to using the full size saw in the garage. But that much power and size isn't safe when cutting trim and tiny pieces for furniture for my dollhouse. My sweet husband says he'll buy me a table saw for my birthday suitable for dollhouse construction. (He bought me the full size saw when I learned to build cabinets for my pantry.) I've been researching small scale table saws on the Internet, and they all have their positive and negative reviews. I haven't read anything that is swaying me one way or the other. (Yeah, I'm a woman who can't make up her mind!) So, what saws are you using and recommend?

Forgive me if this has been covered in another topic already. I did a search yesterday but couldn't find a definitive answer. I'd like input from those of you with more experience. I'm looking to start building some of my own furniture, and would like to know which tools y'all use the most, and if there are any brands better than others? I have been looking at the Dremel 3000 or 4000, but then I saw something in the forum yesterday that talked about the Proxxon rotary tool. Looks cool, but the "no returns" clause has me a little nervous. What other power tools should I look into? Table saws, jig saws, etc.? Should they be specifically for miniatures (I'm thinking yes), or can you just pick them up at Lowe's? If not, where do you buy them? Also, which magazines do you think have the most value as far as building projects, or are they all really about the same? I'm trying to decide which to subscribe to (I can't subscribe to all of them at this time). Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I just picked up the Dremel Trio on ebay & have the Dremel 300 - my question is does the Trio do what the Dremel with the shaper / router table would do , or do they do different things ? Just figured I'd ask before buying the table , thanks. -
I've totally become addicted to power tools, primarily Proxxon tools. What are your tools of the mini trade?
