Foundation assembled and checking out the walls. I took a wall from the 2013 RGT Build-along and switched it with the kit's original downstairs wall.© Jenny Costa

I have stuggled more with this kit than any other. Getting the walls up took more patience than I had. After a couple of temper tantrums and a roll of masking tape, I called for back-up. I don't know how a person could get this kit together without help. And, I don't like the stairs just floating there on the walls like that. The openings in the floors don't allow enough room for rails. What to do? -
Such a wonderful Christmas. Not only did I spend Christmas Eve with my parents, in-laws, children, and grandchildren (which was best of all) -- on Christmas morning my DDDDDDH (put many "dears" in there) got me the RGT Contemporary Ranch kit. First contemporary design and first MDF. Can;t wait to get started. First I have to clean my workroom -- which involves moving the 2 "completed" houses which means landscaping to get them set up for display. Then put away everything for a clean workspace. I had to get the instructions out and read them this morning though. Looks a lot different than building a tab and slot. And I really don't understand the rubber band thing with the window assembly ?????? Looking forward to learning new things though. Hope everyone had a joyous holiday. Lu Ann

RGT (Walmer) Georgetown -- Tulsa, OK -- August, 2012

From the album: My Travel Finds
This cracked me up. This was the CL listing pic. This is an old RGT (Walmer) Georgetown. The lady's grandfather gave it to her nearly 20 years ago. The box was still sealed. I seem to see a pattern in these stories...lol. I was thinking about flipping this one, then she got emotional thinking back on it and asked me to send her some pictures once I got it built. Now what do I do?- 3 comments

Okay, so like many of us I have a lot of DH kits. I need to unload some in order to keep my sanity. I thought I would give forum members first crack before I throw them on eBay. A few items to know: PM's do not work. My Yahoo email address is in my profile. I am out of town on a business trip, so I may be a little slow to respond. Kits will go on a first spoken for, first go basis. Shipping will be parcel post from the Indianapolis area. We can work out the details later. I did not post pics. If you search hard enough you will find pictures of these DH's and kits. All are in the box and as far as I know are complete. I will update this posting as kits are sold. The list: Greenleaf Fairfield Greenleaf Buttercup Greenleaf Orchid (2) (one box has been opened / one is still sealed) Dura Craft Old Towne (this is the HO scale kit) Dura Craft San Franciscan (SF-550) Dura Craft Newberg (2) Dura Craft Cambridge Artply Tennyson Artply Whitney RGT Country Farmhouse (1/2 scale) RGT Vermont Farmhouse Junior RGT Georgetown (Walmer box) Thanks!!

Someone near me is selling a RGT dollhouse from Hobby Lobby that was purchased a few years ago for a pretty penny, which makes me think it was a finished house (it's now deeply discounted). I looked up the offerings, and it's either an Alison or an Alision Jr. Other than the price, I can't seem to figure out the difference between these houses. Perhaps the Alison is a "finished house" and Alison Jr. is an "unfinished kit"? Here are the search results from the RGT site for "Alison": http://www.realgoodtoys.com/store/search//0/10/?Query=alison You can see the two versions -- thoughts? They have a new Twitter account, so I queried them about it. I don't know if they'll reply, so I thought I'd see if any of you know the answer. Also, I've never owned a RGT house or kit. It looks kinda BIG. Yes? Thanks!!
