Update on the progress of the exterior. I just bought the 4th bag of 350 shingles to finish the roof soon, hopefully. Just a little more shingling left to do. I painted the porch area in front of the house dark gray to get ready for the flagstone treatment. -

Current progress inside the house with the third floor painted and wallpapered. Can't decide if the 2 short knee wall trim pieces (on each side against the back wall in the third floor) should be painted Cottage Rose to match the room or off-white to match the trim. What do you think? -

Installed the front door. House is painted Weathered Glass. Door is Island Blue. Brass and crystal door knob ordered from eBay. -

First timer mistake, I primed the roof white. Thanks to all the tips I got here, I learned that white might show through between the shingles, so I painted the roof brown. I was originally planning to stain the shingles, but now I think I like their natural color. Thanks to Sable for all her advice, she suggested painting a lighter color just around the edge, so that the darker brown won't show underneath the shingles around the edges. -

There is a little balcony upstairs. Installed the french door and the balcony railing and trim. Brass and crystal door knob ordered from eBay. -

Finished installing the staircases this morning. I had a really hard time deciding whether to paint or stain the staircase. I decided to paint the stairs off white to match the rest of the house trim and added teal accents to the railing.- 3 comments
