From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop
These days folks would probably use chain saws rather than the two-man felling saw or even the crosscut saw pictured here, but a lot of older places surely have them hanging around, and like a good pair of snowshoes, today they make great wall art for the Aucoins' sugar shack, showing off the history of the maple sugaring industry. Made of tiny wood scraps (handles) and stiff watercolor paper (blades), and a lot of eensy-weensy faux painting to get the patina right.-

It will be my birthday soon  , so I'm working on my husband to get me a decent piece of equipment (hey, whatever works, right?). So I'm looking at the Dremel Moto Saw again and notice that a lot of reviewers complain about blades breaking easily. Downside: no other blades fit the machine, only Dremel and at high prices too. For overseas buyers, it becomes very expensive to order parts the whole time. So I discovered this little beauty over at micromark.com: http://www.micromark.com/microlux-mini-scroll-saw-for-hobby-use,7114.html I like that it can use generic blades, so I can buy blades in Dubai and I wouldn't have to spend so much money in the long-term. I cannot use a handsaw, since my right hand is practically useless after my carpal tunnel operation. Do any of you have a jeweler's saw that you use for your hobby and can you give me some reviews please? I want to make miniature furniture first and foremost, then perhaps branch out into the constructing of DHs - I think this will work to cut out windows too?

I've totally become addicted to power tools, primarily Proxxon tools. What are your tools of the mini trade?
