From the album: 2014 HBS Creatin' Contest--Erabliere Aucoin, Sugar Shack and Shop
This handmade stool, with its heavy, cast-iron-look base and wipe-clean stainless seat, is meant to look like it was salvaged from an old soda-fountain counter. Bet you can't guess what that seat is!! It's a (real-life) bathroom drain plug, the "pop-up stopper" on your sink. Complete with the rubber gasket running around the side that would normally make a good seal on your sink's drain.Ours had broken a few days before I was working on this section of the shop, and after we had a new one put in, I looked at the broken old one... ...and of course I couldn't throw that might-be-useful-someday piece out... ... luckily, someday didn't have to wait long. Miniaturists can be such awful hoarders!!
