From the album: Storybook Cottage Kit Remodel
Figuring out where to put the stairs lead to a new stairwell, extending the base, bumping out walls, adding dormers, lowering the attic floor and installing interior dividing walls. From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Even as a kid I was fascinated with the stamped plywood kits. Taking the time to fill in the gaps will make a significant difference for the final piece. -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
House building has begun! Sort of. Separating the sheet of shingles. 25 down 100's more to go. -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Half complete Storybook desk. This is the piece that came with the kit that I love the most. It's taking some care to make it as polished as I can. -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po: "I would like to see my garden from here with lots of flowers. We need to have some ladybug houses too." -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po: "And I would like a lovely view when everything covered in a quiet blanket of snow." -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po checking the size of his new front door. Always wanted to assemble a dollhouse of my own since I was a kid. Finally decided that it was within my current energy and mobility restraints to work on little things when I hurt too much to do anything else. I figured it was about time. My body feels like I'm 85 years old, can't seem to walk around without a fear of falling, so why wait until I'm actually old to give my childhood self a much too long awaited for dream. Gotta do things when you are still young enough to enjoy them. -

Pebble: "With all of this room you can SPIN!" Po: *shyly* "Um... please be careful."-

From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po: "I hope my bed will fit here once the window is in. I would really like that. Then it could be used as a couch and a bed! All the more places to snuggle up with a book." -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po: *grunts* "I'll just put this here for now..." -

Chika: *knocks* "Anyone home? I'm looking for clothing donations... any clothes would be fine..." Po: "Oh goodness! A guest so soon? I have something over my head now but my furniture still hasn't been unpacked! Oh my, what a busy evening it has been!"-

From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po: "I will be able to see my beautiful garden from this huge window. Or watch the snow fall in winter as I stay inside and read, accompanied with a lovely cup of chamomile tea and a soft blanket." -

Po: "What a wonderful house this is already turning out to be!" -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Me: "How do you like the height of the window in the door?" Po: "I think it's perfect." Dry fitting the pieces of Po's house. Getting over the fear of doing everything wrong and just getting something done. Building your first dollhouse is certainly daunting. I thought that if I waited until I was older that it would make the entire project easier. WRONG! If you don't use creative skills you can't make them grow. I've been collecting tutorials and ideas for miniatures for decades thinking it would better prepare me once I finally got around to it. I'm learning now that you just have to dive in and just learn as you go. -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Po: "Hello. I would ask you in for tea but the floor needs to be put in first. A roof would be nice too. If it rained it would water down our tea. Then we would have to add more lumps of sugar..." -
From the album: Po's House [ Storybook Cottage ]
Me: "Hey Po what do you think about this fabric for a blanket. It has brown AND blu-" Po: "No. I want the other one." Me: *sigh* "I guess that's what I get when I forgot you didn't want blue before painting your bed." *facepalm*
