From the album: DIY Miniatures
I had to bring my dollhouse outdoors for better photos. I just returned from Hobby Lobby. They have been asking me to consider teaching classes there. I finally brought my Sugarplum Dollhouse and some of my felted creations. They were all blown away. I'm so happy they liked the results. So now I'm in my craft room designing a flyer. I just created a Facebook Fanpage. I'll be teaching classes on "How To" with basically everything I have made and will make in the future for my Beachside Bungalow (which they sell and are happy I will be promoting that house). So i have to start making classes format and 'needed" supply lists. Lots to do. Starting in September I will teach a weekly class on creating a full Nativity Scene out of felt. I'm really looking forward to meeting and teaching like minded people. Its kind of rough moving to a new state where you don't know anyone. This will give me the opportunity to meet some miniaturists. So happy right now. Im on cloud nine.- 9 comments

This miniature landscaping is so much more involved than the interior. I'm so perplexed as to what I should do. But I will admit I do like the tree- 19 comments

No judging. I'm just starting the process. And yes, I will be doing a tree but lots to do to make a lifelike tree. Just trying to get an idea for layout and height. I found his YouTube guy who does model building for some kind of game like Dunheons and Dragons. He has some great ideas, especially with trees no stonework. I also opted for the mossy fairy garden grass. I want it neat. I looked at the grass rolls, and grass carpet and they looked too consistent. I want variation and thickness since I'm making raised beds. If you has any inspiration, please share. This is my first time doing landscaping on a house and I could use any advice you all have to offer. -

So I made a smaller chandelier.....but I actually like the style of the other. This one is slightly different. I'm going to have to stick with this as it is tedious work. I think the size is a bit better. I wish this house had taller ceilings. My next house has to high high ceiling or I have to modify it somehow. what do you think for sizing?- 7 comments

I am starting to prep the exterior for landscaping. Don't know what direction I am going in. But the egg carton front walkway is done. I made a diagram of layout, cut pieces and numbered them. This seemed like the easiest way to achieve the layout. Any suggestions of what you think would look good would be appreciated. Going to go hit Michaels and Hobby Lobby for grass, landscaping material, etc.....- 4 comments

First let me apologize for typo errors. My iPad has a life of its own with auto correct. so my interior is becoming more cost everyday. I love this house so much. One because it is small enough for me to display but also because I learned so many techniques. I don't think I'm going to keep the fur rug upstairs. I was trying to replicate those furry area rugs but this is too thick. I might just make a jute rug. A few more things to make, lighting, little miniature fillers and I'll be ready to play with the garden. I can't wait. Thank you to everyone here for your encouragement, and patience in answering all my questions.- 4 comments

I received my solder tool but don't know how to use it yet. But that is not going to stop me from creating furniture pieces for my dollhouse. For all you industrial lovers out there, here are industrial kitchen stools that are very on trend. Hopefully I can pull this off. Follow along if you want similar decor- 3 comments

So the couch is done and I love it. I recommend chalkpaint for the leather look and feel. It makes it so much easier to work with and make a couch.- 2 comments

Honestly........this has to be the most frustrating miniature light I've ever made. Waiting for the Epoxy to dry so I can repaint. And after all this, I'm almost positive this is too large for my Sugarplum Dollhouse. Ugh.......so mad. I have to start over for correct sizing. Maybe next time I can figure out how to electrify i think it's too big. I will make another one at a later date. Spent too much time and not motivated to do it all over right now. Have to get busy with curtains. do you agree it's too big? -

today was one of those days that nothing was working for me. I was having a difficult time with everything I chose to take on. I should have stopped but I kept pushing on only to get more frustrated. after two days I finished the upstairs fireplace. Not thrilled with bookcase color. I tried to wash off my dry brush but wasn't too successful. I tried to sew so,e pillows but ,y sewing machine was jamming up. Just didn't have the patience to work it out. So pillows on the bed will come later this week. i will say I do like the bed. I have a lot more dressing to do on it but I think it's cute and a great size for this dollhouse. so I would love feedback about the fireplace. Thank you.- 2 comments

Hi y'all, was hoping you could give me some advice. I'm working on the Sugarplum and would like to create a stone and brick exterior facade. Been researching trying to see what would be the best way to go about this. I've used sculpey in the past to created a stone fireplace but this is rather large scale for sculpey. Ive read several methods, one being cardboard egg boxes. I extended the front overhang a bit by the door so I could build out a starburst in wood beams. Can anyone recommend or give advice on how to achieve a realistic stone exterior? also another quick questions. Has anyone added a small kitchenette in this model?

trim work is in progress. I can't really completely finish it until the lead tape roll arrives so I can finish the front window and door pane. Still trying to figure out how I'll finish around the rounded door top. I don't really have much room to work with since door top is close to ceiling.-
