To celebrate Chanukah, I took the subway into Manhattan to pick up a craigslist find. Owner said he purchased it from Tiny Dollhouse Shop in NYC in 1999 for considerably more than I paid for it. I believe it is a custom made dollhouse. I'm going to turn it into a townhouse-turned-into-Museum for Contemporary Art. So excited! You should have seen me schlepping it down into the subway and onto three subway trains to get home. Thankfully it's made of very light wood.

nice inside, just needs stair railings glued. passageways from room to room are irregular size for a door, so decided it would be fun to create a modern art museum and leave walls and floor as is.© The Dollhouse Whisperer

bottom two floors were okay with a bad musty smell. top floor a mess, one side with grey glitter paint, the other side with a mirror wall and what looks like gold spray paint. Good news, electrified and it all works except for one ceiling light, and has outlets wired around the rooms. That saves so much time and money.© The Dollhouse Whisperer

Hi everyone, so, while i am still unpacking and sorting after my forced move due to Hurricane Sandy, I still managed to score this steal from Ebay last week - a 1980's Walmer townhouse for $11. I was going to bring it in to my afterschool for the children to work on, but given its rarity I think it's staying with me!
