100th anniversary of the start of the First World War in 1914, This miniature box set.consists of two books ” We don’t want to lose you” (the title comes from a popular music hall song of the time) illustrating recruitment posters from the war, “1914, the road to war” which tells, in words and pictures, the events from the assassination in Sarajevo to the end of 1914. Also in the box are 4 newspapers reporting on the assassination, the declaration of war, the shelling of the eastern coastal towns by the German fleet, and the first battle of Ypres. The final item is a miniature of the famous “Your Country Needs You” poster.
