Hi there- I am searching for a Charleston single house dollhouse kit. So far, I've only found one that's very expensive and one that's too small. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a vintage kit that might be less expensive? I grew up in a Charleston single house, so it's very sentimental for me. TIA! Hope I am obeying the rules. I am "New" here, but my eBay record is visible, and I can point to when I bought and sold high end cinema cameras and gear. I am happy to provide additional photos or details if requested. (1) Arrow Kit 750 Royal Dream Kit in original box, Appears complete, I counted the main wood sheets. I am not sure if any shingles or other loose pieces. Box is old masking tape nightmare, but it is there. (2) Kit: Dura Craft Heritage HR 560 Kit in original box. Perhaps 25% of kit is missing. My wife and I did an inventory of the pieces. I have some of the instruction manual pages we made notes on, but need to look for a couple pages. (3) BUILT: Greenleaf Fairfield 8015 Fully assembled, painted, flooring. But needs a bit of care. Some shingles are missing, Some panels sem loose. Flooring, other decorator items showing their age.

Hello! Honestly just checking out dollhouses and miniatures. I was gifted my grandmothers dollhouse made in the 70's and I really want to renovate it and fix it up! I have always had a fascination with miniatures though! Have a good day!

So, I was nosing around on Market Place and I saw a pretty dollhouse that someone wanted $150 for. I didn't think the dollhouse was worth that, so I kept looking. I came back every day looking and then I saw this new one listed. The seller was asking $189 for it, and I thought it was worth a lot more. I contacted her and asked if it was still available. She indicated it was and said she had to get rid of it by Tuesday. Perfect, I said. I will come get it. THEN I had to figure out how we were going to bring this dollhouse home. We wound up renting a uHaul van and loading it up into the van and carefully driving it home. Once home, a furniture dolly helped to bring it inside the apartment and now, it sits in the middle of my living room. GO Team! we did it! The house needs some restorative work, but is otherwise in good condition. The things that need to be done: repair the front porch rail, the stairway from second floor to attic needs to be repaired and reattached. Some of the rooms need to be finished wallpapering and the flooring needs to be done. Some of the windows need to be repaired. The trim around the turret needs some parts replaced. Some of the doors need to be reattached. Some of the shingles need to be replaced. Aside from that, the dollhouse looks awesome for being as old as it is. I am going to try to upload some pics if I can. You all can tell me what you think. ~morningstar~

Heirlooms Dollhouse Miniatures & Dolls Located in the Historic District! Aurora Oregon What a whirlwind of craziness it's been around here! Here is a bit of what's new..... I am thrilled to announce that Mike Clarizio's magnificent Chandeliers and table lamps are here! If you want the finest gold plated Swarovski Crystal Chandelier for your Dollhouse, these are exquisite. The table lamps are beautiful too! I admit I went a little crazy at an auction, I'll let all the pictures speak for themselves. If you see anything your interested in PM me, give me a description and I'm sure we can make a deal. Decorating for the Holidays in Aurora is a big deal. I am doing my best with all the spare time I have...haha Thanksgiving weekend is open house in every shop here in town. If you live in the area come visit and have some hot cider and a cookie or 2! I have had people give me a bad time (jokingly) that I don't post often enough. I promise to try harder. When you wear every hat it doesn't leave much time. I was even a full day late for the time change...talk about confusing! There is never a time that I just sit. Even in the evening I may pop in a movie, but there is a tray on my lap. Sorting, research and pricing until I fall asleep. You should see the boxes of my own projects. I keep saying I will take a Wendy day and play.... I have the bookeeping, cleaning....can you imagine the dust in a house built in 1904 with a furnace that's as old as the hills! It's got a huge antique floor grate and I swear I see the dust bunnies waving hello as they fly by! I also study. There is so much to learn about miniatures and Dollhouses (of course my vintage and antique Dolls too) I wonder if people know how far back in history they go? The famous people who have had and thoes who do still share our passion? I wish all thoes mini walls could talk! I am also always taking notes as I I remember something, learn something new or hear a story from a customer. With all my memories from my childhood and thoes as an adult, I plan on putting them into a book one day. It's funny, just in this last year 4 people have asked if I have one out or have said I need to. Who knows, maybe one day. I am still looking for help in the shop. I have a fellow collector that comes in when she can, but I want at least 1 or 2 more. Part time, once in awhile... I'm easy! My friend Jim is coming to help the first part of December. He is "that" Jim Larson builder of the famous Ship...The Miniscule in the shop and a 100 other pieces of his art. He says he has to come and fix my front counter...it's not as high as the cabinet next to it and it's making him crazy! He is fun to have around and customers love to talk to him about his art. Well, now that I have chatted till your crazy I'll close for now. I'll be back soon, promise! Enjoy all the pictures!! Your mini friend, Wendy Hmmmm...for some reason I'm not having luck attaching any pictures. I do have them all posted on the shops facebook page.https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1384079495029573&id=1218761951561329

I have a Real Scale Home Kit 1960 as pictured in a post by one of your members. Was something a friend of my Father-In-Law had and it looks to be pretty intact, as nothing looks like it was built with the kit. Suspect he was going to use it to design a house back in the day before CAD or design software. I have been holding onto it for years and am looking to sell it. (only reason I joined this site was the search query brought up the product on this site) If you are interested send me a message or email. I have digital pics I can send. Your site won't allow the ones I took due to size restrictions. Thanks.

Hello Everyone, Like so many other new members, I too am glad to have found this site and was pointed here earlier by another member Thank you. I live in Rochester Hills, Michigan and just purchased my first home; a vintage Farmhouse, that was started and never finished. Its in all raw materials, so I plan to continue, make a few modifications and add electricity. I have worked on real homes, but never a miniature and find it amazing, a great place to unwind and be creative. Did anyone else find themselves running in all directions with excitement to do this and that? I find I have to slow down and take one thing at a time; quality not quantity! Well what I have is called, The Colonial Estate and made by S/W Crafts. If anyone knows anything about this one, please I would love to know as I can't find much information about it or the company as it is out of business. I hope to hear from some of you about your experiences and expertise in the miniature world. It's an amazing little world! Thank you, Gloria

I am nearing completion of my Beacon Hill and have run out of shingles since I decided to shingle the bays. My Beacon is a vintage kit from 1991 with the thicker shingles. I purchased some spare Greenleaf shingles from a Beacon kit off of Ebay recently, but they were from a more modern kit and were much thinner than mine. I only have the back tower roof left to do and estimate it will take about 100 shingles (including for cuts). Would anyone have spare any shingle strip sheets from an early 1990's GL kit that they would part with?

Hi y'all! I'm really just looking for guidance, if possible. I know nothing about dollhouses or miniatures, but I recently found my old childhood dollhouse from the 1970's and don't have a clue what to do with any of it. I'm very sentimental, so I can't just toss it, but I need to find out about how to go about selling it, and selling the furniture. It was a kit, all wood, with a bunch of furniture (made in Korea?)...Is it intrusive to upload a few pictures to see if anyone here could point me in the right direction? Thank you so much for any help! Oh...I'm Kim and in Marietta, GA...

My family just recently relocated, and in moving I found an old box that had a dollhouse kit in it. According the the papers included and postage on the box, it is a kit for a Yieldhouse Saltbox Dollhouse made in 1971. The box had a tattered paper inside of it that actually had instructions on building, as well as a note about a "Best Dollhouse" competition dated to take place between September 1971 and September 1972. The kit is brand new, all the pieces are there, it has never been put together or painted. I'm really just looking for any kind of information about the dollhouse, as I have had quite a hard time finding any information about it online. I'm interested in its history, but I am more interested in whether or not it has any kind of value. Any information is greatly appreciated. Cheers, -Alex

From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Bathroom
I fell in love with this bathroom the second I came across it. I knew this was the bathroom I wanted to use as my inspiration for my Glencroft's Bathroom. I plan on making all the subway tiles by hand using various materials. (Thinking about posting a tutorial) SO stay tuned!-

From the album: The Appleby Cottage
Spent a couple hours cleaning the little house all up. My research said not to soak wood with water (which was my first inclination) so I used a shopvac to blow into the crevices, then brushed all unpainted surfaces with a copper-bristled brush, then blasted it with air again. After that I took a vinegar/water mixture (1:1) and using a soft rag washed all surfaces, inside and out. Looks much better!© Checkmouse

LOOK WHAT I FOUND! I was browsing the Internet last night, trying to find something to date the flooring and/or wallpaper, when I found this picture. It didn't have an exact date on it, but was shown with other dollhouse styles around 1906. Almost identical to mine!© checkmouse

Here is the front of my Duracraft Farmhouse 505. I purchased it through a local online buy-sell-trade group, fully furnished for $60! What a find! I'm so excited to redecorate it! -

A detail shot of the blanket I crocheted for my doll's bed -
Bought this beauty through a local shop'n'swap online for $60 fully furnished. I can't for the life of Google identify it. The closest I've come is a variation on the 1979 Franklin. But the windows are different, the stairs aren't curved and are opposite... Plus some different interior wall placements. Anyone know what it is? Approximate measurements are: 31.5" Height 33.5" Width 19" Deep (which also closely resembles the Franklin) Sorry the photo is sideways, the uploader is giving me the dickens....

So, I came across a gorgeous wall light a couple of weeks ago, but lost the auction on eBay. I tried to find more elaborate vintage lighting but it's been hard. I'm assuming Marie Toner doesn't make lights anymore? I plan to visit the Molly Cromwell show in September, does anyone know of any lighting vendors that may be there? I'm trying to find a few unique pieces for an upcoming project. Or does anyone have any good lighting recommendations? Theres a small mini shop here but their lights are a little expensive and a little too much. I want a nice in between.

From the album: Vintage Cabin
Its so charming in its unfinished state, I don't really want to do anything to it. -
Ah, craigslist has got its hooks into me again! I've searched all day for info about this one, but no luck. I thought it was a Worthington at first...but no...then I thought it was a half dozen other things...but again, no. A lot of "almost but not quite" possibilities. The flat rooftops on the wings and the large windows on the first floor are what I am not finding anywhere in my searches. Look familiar to anyone? They describe it as "antique, found in an Ohio farmhouse" but I don't know...does it really look antique? They only describe the size as "large" and the material as "wood." They're asking $75, and I will probably buy it if the seller ever responds to my inquiry. Might not happen, though, as its been listed for over 2 months. Maybe they just forgot to remove the ad. I seem to be attracted to large, obscure houses in need of rehab! This isn't good, because I don't have anywhere to put them.

Hi everyone. I'm still looking for the Skilcraft Victorian Manor with Coach House, circa 1979. My parents originally purchased this dollhouse for me at Sears in Oregon, but I haven't been able to find any in kit on eBay, Craigslist, Amazon, vintage and antique stores; I just missed one sold off Craigslist in Long Island in November. Here is a picture with some related facts: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-skil-craft-victorian-manor-429438549 (You do not need to be a member to view this website). Anyhow...I am happy to pay for the kit and shipping or if you see it in your treasure travels, please PM me. I'm in Seattle, WA...also looking for a miniature group to join in the area if you know of any. So far I have only located groups south of Seattle or in Eastern WA. Too far to drive Here is a picture link or see attached file with some related facts: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-skil-craft-victorian-manor-429438549 (You do not need to be a member to view this website). Thank you for reading and happy dollhousing!

From the album: Mosie's Room
Maureen purchased these vintage boxes at a miniature show, and they really add to the overall appeal of the era and holiday. - I also think the pull ring on the shade came out nice.- 1 comment
