  1. Hi everyone! I was drawn to this site when I was looking up info about a Wahlmer Old Towne dollhouse - my aunt passed on to my daughter. She originally acquired it in 1978 in Alexandria, VA, USA. I think the cost was $80 plus accessories. (Expensive & fancy dollhouse back then. :)) So far I’ve only fully altered an Ikea dollhouse into soemthing more. I let my daughter create the wallpaper and I modified other aspects of it with popcicle sticks and a lot of wood glue. I cut windows into it too. I can’t stop the ideas running through my brain on this beautiful Wahlmer house now. hehe Anyway, I’m looking forward to all the creative people & their ideas on this site!
  2. I think we have a Walmer. I’m not entirely sure but this is our first house and I’d like to see picture of completed models like ours! Any input would be appreciated!
  3. Walmer Foxhall Manor #600 is ready for a new loving home. We are keeping the other miniature houses but this is too big for our new space. It's a large installation- see ping pong table for size reference. See photos posted here: https://duluth.craigslist.org/clt/d/duluth-vintage-walmer-foxhall-manor/6963266066.html Kept in good condition by my perfectionist word-working grandfather in his basement. His 80yr old hands can't manage the intricate parts for quite some years so it's time for a new home. He reinforced the main base area for a better platform. Main house structure is complete but windows were not installed (still in original packaging). One of the additions has been set up, while the Conservatory is still new un-opened in box. Also includes both additions: #603 and #605More photos or video upon request. Make an offer. This exact kit [but without either addition] is being sold on eBay for much more:https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sophistikits-Foxhall-Manor-Dollhouse-Material-Milled-Plywood-/331766853785Would make such a memorable Christmas house display. -12 Rooms. -Front-opening design. -Fancy porch posts and spindles. -Window kits include interior trim. -Step-by-step instructions with detailed drawings.
  4. Hello everyone, Does anyone have any knowledge about the early to mid 1990s Walmer dollhouse line? I'm rehabbing a Walmer house that I purchased and built in 1994 but I can't remember what it was called. Possibly it was called a Brookshire. My memory is that is was part of a series where the house was basically the same but you could order different porches, additions and dormers. The RGT New Concept series seems really similar so might have been something that RGT kept when they acquired the Walmer dollhouses. My house shares a floorplan with the New Concept 1000 series. Anyone have any info for me? -Tim

Discovering that finishing an intact house is not for wimps, but it’s good for learning about process before I assemble one start to finish.

  7. Hello All, I joined because I am embarking on my very first dollhouse kit. After bringing the dollhouse kit home I realized that the instructions were not included. I purchased the Brookshire Dollhouse Econo-Kit manufactured by Walmer Enterprises Inc. I am looking forward to starting my very first dollhouse as I am now an adult and have wanted to build my own dollhouse since I was a young girl. By joining this forum I would like to meet more people with the same interests, learn more about the hobby and most importantly, start off on the right foot by hopefully obtaining instructions for the dollhouse sitting in the box in my living room Thanks so much for having me! I look forward to what is to come! Sincerely, GardinerHouse
  8. I have a very old Walmer Nob Hill dollhouse & was so lucky to get in contact with the original mfg of this house because there were no instructions in my boxes. It's been boxed up for years & I'm now working on it. If anyone has any tips on this house I would love to hear them. Wish me luck.
  9. From the album: My Travel Finds

This cracked me up. This was the CL listing pic. This is an old RGT (Walmer) Georgetown. The lady's grandfather gave it to her nearly 20 years ago. The box was still sealed. I seem to see a pattern in these stories...lol. I was thinking about flipping this one, then she got emotional thinking back on it and asked me to send her some pictures once I got it built. Now what do I do?
  10. Hi everyone, so, while i am still unpacking and sorting after my forced move due to Hurricane Sandy, I still managed to score this steal from Ebay last week - a 1980's Walmer townhouse for $11. I was going to bring it in to my afterschool for the children to work on, but given its rarity I think it's staying with me!
