CatColorado
Looking good Tracy! What printer settings did you use?
Minis On The Edge
I printed it on the setting of regular paper, with "normal" ink. I did not think to change the setting (Duhhh) I have printed two so far with regular paper setting. This is an All in one Printer, copier, scanner thingy
CatColorado
Thanks Tracy! I am glad I asked because I would have used the "other specialty papers" option.

maresiedotes
Wow, Tracy, what an interesting and good-looking result! I'm going to try it when I get to the point of decorating my Garfield!
MiniMadWoman
Thanks for bringing this up again! I'm going to try one for 'Mother Goose's' cottage. Off to google for a 'Mother Goose' inspired pattern!
Shy Spirit
The rug and quilt look fantastic! I would love to have a hanging tapestry - do you think the texture on the paper towel would spoil the "tapestry" effect? Any ideas on what would be a good surface to print on? Minis On The Edge
I know people buy mens hankies so that they can print images for curtains, blankets and towels and tapestries too. I can't remember why they use mens though :o
Shy Spirit
Hmmm ... I can easily find ladies' hankies - I have a stash already, and they are plentiful in thrift shop here, but I haven't seen men's. Mind you, I haven't been looking! Thanks for the tip, I shall be on the lookout now. :o
maresiedotes
Has anybody ever tried printing on dryer sheets, or used them for anything else? I'm thinking that they are a constant source of rather sturdy fiber that could be used in a multitude of places. Any comments?
Shy Spirit
I have heard of people folding the dryer sheets and tying a pretty ribbon around them. Once they're placed in a shelved cupboard, they look like blankets. I've never heard of anyone printing on them. Have any of you tried it? Thanks for the tip, I shall be on the lookout now. :o he he he... You can find the ladies hankies because they are decorative and LADIES don't snotty all over them. The men's hankies get all GROSSSSSS so they have to throw them away! sorry... couldn;t resist that!
Shy Spirit
Well, I remember my Mum used to wash and iron my Dad's hankies - but that was in my childhood, in England. Mum and Dad use Kleenex now!
havanaholly
I use DH's old UNsnotty handkerchiefs for bed linens, I've embroidered chair seats on them and I make mini men's shirts from them as well as ladies' drawers & slips.
maresiedotes
Do you have any pics of the various things you've made from men's handkerchiefs? I'd love to see them!
havanaholly
The bedding on the Coventry cottage bed (Coventry blog), Miss Nellie's apron (Dolls album), the kitchen curtains in the Cambridge (Dollhouses album) & I don't think the diningroom chair seats show up, the bargello "flame" stitched piano seat in the McKinley album... Minis On The Edge
Also, hobby lobby sells some. I found them in the isle where you stand in line last week. They were only 98 cents each but they were bigger than the average hankie.

heidiiiii
I went to the dollar store and was able to buy a package of 3 hankies that have small flowers on them. For $1. They will be used for sheets and pillowcases.

IAK
I just love this idea and tried it yesterday.....but I jammed the printer. Is there a trick to it? I have an HP Photo printer that loads on the bottom. Maybe you can only do it with a top loading printer.
CatColorado
I used a HP bottom loading printer and it worked fine. What settings are you using? What kind of towel?
Minis On The Edge
I used plain paper setting too and mine is bottom load too :o
