Dean, I have a suggestion

Recommended Posts

I just watched a You Tube video of two men making a Brownstone dh. (Posted in the General Mini Talk section.) It was really interesting, plus it led me to thinking about Greenleaf, and the facilities you have.

I would love to see your staff, and the warehouse, and some of the kits being made. Is there any way you would consider making a video for us to see? I'm sure I'm not the only person here who would find it fascinating!

A virtual tour would be so much fun! My son's mother-in-law has a place in Honeoye (spelling???) on the lake. I've always wanted to get down there when we are in Rochester just so I can see where the factory is.

Have any of you done any how to's via video? Just wondering. Also what things would you like to see a video how to on?

I don't really like video how tos. I prefer something I can print out and put into a notebook so I can use it anywhere. My computer isn't in a place where I can watch the video and work on my dollhouse.

But I would love to see some how tos on putting pinned doors in Greenleaf houses. I've got another Primrose all done except that I haven't put the front on yet because I can't get the pins right, and I didn't really like the tape hinges as well as pins.

I have never been in a how to video, but have seen one made. You either have to have about 10 of the item in various stages or you have to take a really long time to do it. If you opt for the latter, you have to make sure you wear the same clothes, hair style, makeup, stand on the same side, etc.

Videos would be wonderful. Unfortunately, those of us with dial up connections probably couldn't view it. When someone posts for Youtube or even the DIY on dollhouses, I can't view them. I wanted to learn how to make German paper stars that Carol Duval had on HGTV. The segment was only about 6 minutes long but it took me almost 45 minutes to view the entire thing because of the dial up.

I did a tutorial on how I did the pin hinge in the Coventry. The pictures are not the greatest but if you would like to check it out it is located here

Since then, DH and I have found out that the bottom one is easier if you create a threshold and put the bottom pin thru it into the door.

Y'all continue to enjoy I share Gayle's problem, being on dialup; compounded by the fact that our ISP can't or won't support any feature based on Flash (which I've lost count how many times we've tried to download!), There are a number of features and posted links I just go ahead & mark "read" because I'll never get to read/ see them.
