grynche
I received this from a long-time animal friend. The lengthy message [not copied here] is about a dog that died from eating about half a container of raisins. But even a handful of grapes or raising can cause problems. Can't be too careful with the furkids. ***Confirmation from Snopes about the above... <http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/raisins.asp> http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/raisins.asp
chinamom
Wow I had no idea, I will be calling my dad too, I think I have seen him give his dog a raisin! Thanks, Renay

Peggi
I didn't know this, thanks, I've given George grapes before--he just played with them. Now I'm glad he didn't eat them.

Wolfie
That is horrible. I don't give my baby chocolate, raisons, onions or grapes.... I am careful with my plant selection too, cats can die if they eat certain plants.... Wolfie
chesterfieldzoo
I was very surprised when I heard of this. Apparently my dogs have cast iron tummies. I grow grapes and we all stand and eat them. I had one dog eat a whole box of chocolate chip cookies (49 to be exact). Another ate 2 bags of hershey kisses. They don't buy raisins though. I can't stand them and so there aren't any in the house. Oops, there was one time that someone gave me oatmeal raisin cookies - the dogs got them. But then, I feed my dogs everything so they aren't really sensitive to foods. It seems that anyone who only feeds their dogs dog food runs into problems when they get into 'people food'.
