Yesterday I ventured out to Home Depot and bought the components for some adjustable wall shelving for the craft room. They will display the furniture and accessories I've accumulated. I've GOT to get organized! Hope to get them installed today. <...looking around for drill bits...> If I'd finish organizing the garage workspace, I'd probably know where they are.

Well, there is no full moon, but it sure feels like it. I assembled the components in the craft room, only to discover I'd bought two different wall brackets -- one Closetmaid, one Rubbermaid. Checked the shelf brackets, learned they are Closetmaid. Back to Home Depot to exchange the Rubbermaid wall bracket for its Closetmaid counterpart. Okay, minor delay, nice sunny day for a drive.

Back home, ready for second attempt. Measured the diameter of the toggle bolts to determine the size of drill bit required and headed out to the garage for the power drill and bits. Uh huh. Spent a goodly amount of time rummaging through tool boxes and other containers. No drill. No bits. Lloyd was the King of Toolboxes. He kept art supplies and tools in them. Nearly two dozen of them. I donated many art supplies, including numerous tool boxes, to a New Orleans elementary school; have a feeling one of the tool boxes contained the power drill and bits.

I Googled power drills, spotted a hand drill by Fiskars on Amazon, and ordered it along with an assortment of bits and a small level. Thanks to Amazon Prime, delivery is free and they should be here Sunday. Really? Sunday? That's what the confirmation says.

I decided to go with a hand drill instead of power as the power drill is noisy, heavy, needs electricity, is less expensive, and comes with a power cord that is usually a nuisance to maneuver. Other than the Dremels, I generally prefer building with hand tools.

The wall is measured and marked. When the tools get here it will be time for a third attempt. Meanwhile, I'll find other things to do. :)

Oh dear. Ive had days like that. Hopefully tomorrow is better!

My sister offered use of her cordless drill tomorrow, so the project may move forward after all. She reminded me that I can shop her garage any time. :D

Both the dishwasher and the microwave died last month, so today we finally went to the appliance store to buy replacements.  They know us now, and as soon as I told them what I wanted they led me straight to the direct replacements for what we had and did not try to sell us the fanciest models in the store.  They're supposed to deliver & install on Monday.  I just love shopping local!

My days are filled with physical and occupational therapy sessions since Wednesday.  It’s only for a few hours a day, but it’s a workout.  As much as I would like to go home, staying in rehab sure makes it easier to break up the daily sessions.

I also have a roommate who is killing me.  He’s an old cattle rancher with 3 daughters who visit him daily and I see why.  He sounds kind of short and grumpy when interacting with everyone, but more often than not, he comes out of left field with hilarious one-liners.  It already hurts to breath, and he has me cracking up all day.  My kids adore him.  Even DD#2 just ran right up to him and loves seeing him. She isn’t like that with everyone.  He had open heart surgery and needed addition rehab too.

Jeremy, I hope your rehab and recovery go well and fast!

Kathie, your craft room is coming along nicely. I like the idea of the shelves. Good idea to have the stuff you have visible for a reminder. I need to try and find a way to do that too. I am envious of the closet for storage. Not only does my house not have amazing closets like that, my craft room doesn't have a closet at all! So I have storage drawers lining the walls, with no room for more tables for work or display space. Luckily I have a ledge around half the room so that helps, but reduces the floor space. Spring break is coming up in a few weeks, and reorganizing everything in the is on the list. Feel free to come over to help! :D We'll call it 'playing' with all the fun tiny things!

So today we are off to Springfield to my oldest son's house for some kind of gathering.  I'm afraid it' a glorified tipper ware party.  Which I totally despise.   I brought my crochet bag to help me keep my mouth shut.  LOL.   I have completed the big blanket and mailed it to SA.  Now I'm on to towel toppers.   Watched a few tutorials on you tube and adapted them to my level of crochet. (My level =lazy). 3 done working on 3 more.

Well, somehow I managed to get everything done for the baby shower at work yesterday. Wednesday I made 4 dozen cupcakes, then decided I wanted to knit a hat and swaddle blanket. (I work full time in the days, so I only have evenings and sometimes lunch to do things) I finished up the hat Thursday at work, then after dinner made frosting and frosted all the cupcakes. I have always spread frosting on, but it takes so long, I hate it. But I have some bags and tips, so I used those for the first time and swirled the frosting on. Half of them look like my grandson did them, but for the most part they looked pretty good. And so easy! I even over heard someone say they should be sure to eat one since someone went through the expense of buying them. So that was nice. After cupcakes I started the swaddle, and got half done before bed. Oh well, decided I'd just have to give it to her later. But I still took the knitting bag with me for some reason. Well, I walk in and she's not there!! The day before she was just exhausted, it had been a rough week for her. Her brother (who works with us) called the husband, who had completely forgotten about the party, and went to work! Anyhow, it all worked out, he told her, came home from work, and I brought out the knitting bag!! I kept up with emails and messages, but for the most part just knitted. Got done 30 minutes before the shower started! Hooray!!

And as a bonus, I have a dozen cupcakes left over for the dinner I have to bring dessert for, so no baking today!

Finished the dark blue border on the rose rug! On to the dark green part of the leaves. Then it's just 3 colors left: light and medium blue borders, and white background. I keep chugging along, despite the doctor trials of this past week. Learned I have a pinched nerve in my upper back and neck...joy, right? Affects my left hand in that some fingers are numb, and the hand strength isn't quite what it was. Muscle relaxants and painkillers for me just to function.

Jeremy, all I can do is shake my head and hope your recovery is as pain free and complete as possible.

The craft room organization continues. The shelves are up. Before and after photos in my blog.

Looked at your blog Great Organization . I don't have nearly as much but had to chuckle about buying duplicates . So happy to know I'm not the only one.

So ..... headed to son's in Springfield,  hubs takes a detour without saying anything.  There was a chair he saw last week in Ozark and went back to see if was still there.    BIG MISTAKE.   Yep chair was there,  but as we are leaving, hiding in a corner was "Louigi's cafe".   On sale. 39.00.    And yes it's in my navigator.

Artist did an awesome job.   I need to learn how he did the "mulch "  I'll take pictures when we get back to house.

I am happily working on the beginnings of my Queenie caravan and so far I am loving it better than anything else I have done. I am able to work on my lap on a tray which is less painful than sitting at a table., I will of course have to switch to a table but so far so good. I have made all the furniture, the steps ,,the chicken coops etc, now I am working on the roof. The pieces are beautiful, if I had one fault it would be that the instructions are sparse. so a lot of dry fitting before glue commitment is a must.

I found siding and single balustrade railings and some other neat stuff..thank you Samantha.

The Pensacola Quilters' Guild annual show is this weekend, so we went today on our way to the grocery store.  I love the art quilts, but I was so much more impressed when all the quilting, applique & embroidery was done by hand.  Still, it was fun with the vendors there to watch some of the machines in operation; the Innova embroidery machine nearly blew my socks off!

Got a text a few days ago from our oldest son saying he's in the hospital with pneumonia and the flu. He texted this morning that he's beginning to feel somewhat better and the specialist says he may be able to go home on Monday, but it'll take weeks before he's able to do much of anything without being exhausted. He's been texting because it's too hard to talk on the phone. The same day we found out about our oldest, the younger son came home from work and said that as of March 30th he no longer has a job. On the other hand his boss said he could apply for another job with the company. DS was thoroughly disgusted, they did the same thing to him last year. Well, at least our daughter hasn't had any catastrophes befall her this week.:dunno:

Star Wars didn't really have anything culinary that I recall.

What did they conjure up from the food gizmos in the wall? I recall them talking to the fabricator and voila! the item would appear.
