Thanks everyone!  :)  I so appreciate your kind words.

Love it that so many of you can speak from experience!  To add to my discomfort, I found out this morning that I still have a "moderate" amount of crystals in my bladder - -hanging on from my kidney stone episode mid-June.  blargh. Time to break out the home remedy to dissolve these suckers!

We just finished our first week of school. Monday we start deployment of 33,000 chromebooks to the students. Today we found out that the vendor didn't place last years devices back in the correct storage slots in the boxes, so our plan of just grabbing them quickly out of the assigned slot just got harder. We had big enrollment changes, so over 500 devices had to be moved around today, and one of the supervisors provided incorrect information to his team (and ignored the printed signs I provided to make sure everything went to the right location), so that created a big mess. And then to top it off, we found out at 4pm that 2 schools had a box of devices (20 in each box) that smelled like... Well, they are smelly and not safe to distribute.
Did I mention distribution starts Monday? And oh, that I am inventory manager... Sigh...

Every day this week has been full of crazies, but I think today topped them all.

This weekend will be spent sorting, organizing, and packing Brennen's stuff for college. Moving day is next Saturday.

Oldest son came fir a short visit.  I loved having them here.  Daughter drove over from Destin area to visit with her big brother.  Grilled in the yard for lunch.  They left Wednesday.

Next week oldest granddaughter and her hubby will come.  It's so nice to finally have space for company.   (Sadly no space for my 31 houses .....yet)

Tracy, I can't imagine the complexities of a project of this scope. Sorry to hear the distribution is so messed up.

Thanks Kathie. I'm trying to keep the attitude of, "it will get done, smoothly or not, so we just do our best and deal with it". But goodness, yesterday just about put me over the edge.

I also am keeping in mind, that last year we did only 1 or 2 schools a day for 6 weeks, and I had to go to every one. (we have 51 schools). The window is only 3 weeks this time, and over half the schools are tomorrow, with the majority finishing by the end of the week, so at least it wll be over quickly. And I don't have to go to any, I'll stay in one place and deal with problems.

I slept for 11 hours last night! I was wiped out!

Wishing you a quick recovery, Jackie!  Knee surgery is rough.

A few weeks ago I took the family to Orlando so my DW could get her registration done at UCF.  We spent the first day at Disney Springs and the water park at the hotel we stayed at.  After returning to Gainesville, I rented a trailer, loaded up my bike, and started a quick turn around trip to central Alabama.  About 2 hours into the trip one of my kidney stones tried to escape and got stuck.  It was a very unpleasant 5 hour drive from there.  Luckily I hit the "pressure equalizing" point when I got there, so the return trip went perfectly.  After getting the car transferred to my mom the next day, I cranked up the Harley and rode home.  I had an interview the following day, and of course that's when it started acting up again.  Not surprisingly, I didn't get the job, but I did get admitted and had surgery the next day (July 13).   I'm still applying for jobs, but everyone in this town seems to think they can pay the same wages as McDonald's, so we're looking at other options, like Houston or anywhere that doesn't have an economy that relies on college students or tourists.

Prepping the garage for hurricane season/Sept and Oct. Unfortunately, that means my half of the garage which is my work area is being dismantled, reconfigured and downsized. I have a huge stainless steel food prep work table which had been used for storing all of my larger tools. I just put it up on Craigslist and Nextdoor. DH consolidated his collection of Christmas lights from 4 buckets to one so I can put my tools on the wall shelves. I still have my workbench against the rear wall. The whole point of this is to make room in the garage for the two cars. We will be in Europe for 2 1/2 weeks during the height of our hurricane season so I want everything all battened down before we leave. I might even put the shutters up before we leave. The city might fine me but at least I won’t need to panic should a storm come South Florida’s way.

Oldest granddaughter and her new (1 yr anniversary trip) hubby are visiting from MO.  They took their first venture into a casino yesterday then hit the beach. Grandma and grandpa treated them to dinner . Today middle daughter is on her way over to spend time with her niece. Love having the house full of my family.   Tomorrow it goes silent again as they all head back to their homes.

Well, off to the cardiologist.   Whoopee.   Have I mentioned I really hate going to the doctor.

My own mother was like that; I did turn her loose in the kitchen - once - and after she went home it took us over a year to find everything she'd "rearranged".

Ha Holly our mothers must be sisters from other mothers. Mom would always change my kitchen saying that it wasn’t right. Funny thing though is she would be changing her own design as I always just left it. It was durring a time when I was newly divorced with three small boys. I just never had the energy to change it to my way and was so grateful for her help that I left it her way.

My mother just likes to tell me how I'm doing everything wrong, whether it's cooking or washing dishes. Once I told her she could do it herself then and started to walk away, but she said, no, it was fine, she didn't want to take over (really?). As soon as I came back, she started criticizing again. On top of everything else....when I was home with the dog one year, he tried to take something off the kitchen counter (unusual because he never did stuff like that). So I said no and tried to give him a light smack on the muzzle. He jerked his head away and whacked it on the kitchen counter and my mom told me she thought I was mean to him. I can only imagine what would happen if I had kids. And I was so hoping the dog would continue to take stuff off the counter, but he reverted to behaving himself and never did it again. I adored the dog. Not sure I can say the same about my mother.

Today I am doing absolutely nothing. It's supposed to be 92 today and tomorrow and all I did this morning was cook up some hamburger with taco seasoning before it got too hot. I have refried beans in the fridge and now the hamburger, tortillas, and tostadas and it's going to be a no cook couple of days. Although I just might go out for a pizza tomorrow. No cook, no cook, no cook.

I pray that I will be the best mil to my future DIL's.......It causes so much strife in a marriage. If anyone is willing to take on my 2 boys, I will kiss her feet ans ask her not to curse me when she realizes that they are incorrigible slobs!
