pjnick54 Posted June 23, 2008 Share Posted June 23, 2008 I worked at the Celebrity Theatre restaurant in Phoenix in 1974 and waited on him when he came in for a meal. What a nice man! Did not demand any extra attention or special treatment - just a regular customer. It killed me not to be able to get an autograph, but that was the rules. We couldn't ask anyone for one. His humor and style will be missed. This is the first I'd heard of his passing. RIP George -- I know those who welcome you are in for a good time up there!
