Sonia Messer Collectors

I'm not exactly a collector but I have a bunch of it from childhood. (I'll post photos one of these days.) I think the quality is very good, esp. the wood. (It's not just stained, it's genuine whatever-kind-of-wood.) It's not as delicate/detailed as Bespaq, though.

I also have a catalog from the 70s with Sonia Messer, Chrysnbon, etc and the original (wholesale? retail?) prices.

I have a small number of Sonia Messer pieces and I love them. I have also found that you want to be careful when you buy them -- the prices can be reasonable or entirely out of hand -- eBay sellers are a good example of this.

I have a lovely set in the bedroom at 2004 Oddjob Lane on http://community.webshots.com/user/irismarch

and odd pieces here and there in some of my other houses.

:)

Thanks Greg! The barometer is one of my favorites! It came in the box of stuff I bought from a lady selling her late mom's collection. Everything was wonderful quality but poorly taken care of for several decades.
