Luanne
I used miniwax stain- the cleaning instructions said to use paint thinner. Home Depot seems to sell them in 1 gallon size bottle. I don't think I'd need that much. I used polish nail remover on the brushes. It removed some of the stain but not all of them. The bristles are stiff/ havenot been restored to their soft nature. Should I just get the gallon size bottle paint thinner or is there another choice? Thanks a bunch. Luanne
Gayle
Lowe's and Wal-mart sell smaller sizes.
uppitycats
Minwax stain also comes in a water-based formula, for which you only need soap and water to clean up. That might be a better choice next time. It doesn't have nearly the smell, either.

chesterfieldzoo
Nail polish remover is laquer thinner. Different stuff. You can get smaller containers at the above mentioned stores. Or ask someone for a baby food jarful.
Luanne
Thanks for the idea. I'll stop my Wally World tonight. Might need to find that water-based stain. Sounds great. Happy mini weekend. Luanne

Wolfie
I use Minwax stains, and I clean up with hot water and dish detergent. Works like a charm.

Luanne
found some small bottle of paint thinner. I'll save the tips for future reference about the rags/ hot water and detergent. That's what I use for paint. Thanks again. Luanne
