heidiiiii
Right now I am reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. Pretty good book. If you like Jane Austen and you do not mind zombies..it might be the book for you. The other book I am reading is The year of living bibically by A J Jacobs. *funny combo in book choices huh?* The second book is part of a group online book club. It is funny but also thought provoking. It is one man`s humble quest to follow the bible as literally as possible. What about you? What are you reading right now? Do you like it? Do you love it? Would you recommend it?

Sherry
James Patterson's 'The 5th Horseman'. I read all of his books, and this is one of the Women's Murder Club series, which I really enjoy. Have Beck's 'Common Sense' and 'Lies your teacher told you' in line behind it. And of course, a great mini book that Alpangle sent me, for light reading! Missymew
My mother and I are both reading through M.C. Beaton's Agatha Raisen mysteries over the summer. The reading is light and fun - perfect for summer pick ups and put downs. My mum and I each read, on average, about 3-4 books a week. This past week I also read: a book about herbal healing for cats, one on good and bad carbohydrates, and another on communicating with your dog/cat. Heidi, A.J. Jacobs' book sounds interesting. It reminds me slightly of Pilgrim's Progress. Christian followed the road to redemption rather than spending a year living within biblical principles. In the Year of Living Biblically, is this under the old covenant or new covenant through Christ? Great topic by the way. -Susanne
heidiiiii
Susanne, We are just getting into the book chapters now. The author is a secular Jew who had written another book about how he read the entire Encyclopeida Britannica. He followed all the rules from the bible, old and new testament. He did not cut the edges of his beard, he did not wear clothing with mixed fibers, etc etc.
lmgervais
I just finished re-reading 'The Secret Garden' by Francis Hodgeson Burnett this morning. I have read her three most popular books many times, and still like them a lot.

I really do believe that if we'd live the lives that God meant for us to live, we would be blessed. Unfortunately, with so much sin in the world, we suffer the consequences of free will. I'd really be interested to hear more about his book. You've got a good head on your shoulders, and your comments and opinions, as you read, would mean a lot to me. -Susanne

heidiiiii
Dont you worry Jane... Susanne, I will let you know as I read. They had to stop the club for a bit because one of the members had to have surgery. We all wanted to wait for her. The book is funny at times. So it never becomes a dull journey of one man. He lightens it with how his wife is dealing with the rules that he has to follow, how he went to many different religious leaders of different faiths to find out interpretations of different rules he had to follow. Some he did not follow because he would have been arrested..like stoning. He did not eat pork or shellfish. I did a quick scan of it before we started and I think I will like the read. If you want, I can pass it on to you when I am done.

grazhina
Dead and Gone was pretty good. Not quite as good as some of the previous ones, but still enjoyable. I was tempted to buy the new Stephanie Plum, Finger Lickin' Fifteen, but almost every review I saw by just about everyone, said it was a big letdown. I'll wait til it comes out in paperback or at the library. I started perusing Nineteenth Century Decoration, the Art of the Interior. I'm about half way through the pictures. When I'm done looking at the pictures, I'll go back and read the text.
