Sadden by her loss

It is with a heavy heart that we sent our little Miss Crabby, our special girl Molly, to the bridge earlier this week, We have known for some time these past few weeks that it was a very good bet that Molly would soon be leaving us for the Rainbow Bridge. In spite of the many vet visits, her large pill regiment and varied food selections that she obviously was interested in but could not manage to down, we hoped she would overcome this and emerged as her bouncy wiggly self, but it was not to be.

Molly was the very first boxer we adopted from a rescue and she was intended as a companion and playmate for our other boxer Tyson after we lost our other female. Unfortunately she was very standoffish and would not play with him so we then adopted Rocky who became our resident clown and left the title of little miss crabby and queen of the house to Molly. We liked to say that he was the product of a broken home and she was the victim of an impatient owner. They both brightened our lives for nearly nine years and their going left a very big hole in our lives.

We seemed to have more then our share of mass cell tumors over the years with both (we lost Rocky to cancer Sept 08) and Molly wound up with her own heart specialist, immunologist specialist, and acupuncturist for her stiffness and arthritis for what our daughter came to dub her spa treatments. We put hundreds of miles on the car as we transported her to the specialists in the larger city nearby since we did not have them locally. As you can imagine, the costs were not insignificant but we did not hesitate; she was our special girl. This past summer was the healthiest she has ever enjoyed and it was wonderful to see her play with Flynn our daughter's golden and Baron, the senior boxer who joined us this last Nov even though she never quite learned the trick of it. We are grateful for that time for her. She was our loving little girl for nearly nine years and she ruled the roost. She had a voice activated tail that was constantly in motion and her ears reminded us of the flying nun's cap.

In time we will look for a successor to her. We will know when the time and candidate is right. We feel it would be a wonderful legacy to Molly's (and all our other fur kids) memory to continue the tradition of two boxers in our family.

Rest well sweet girl, we will see you and the others at the bridge.

The loss of any pet-friend is almost more trauma than one can stand. But it helps to

know that they are well and waiting for us to join them one day.I so believe this.

But my heart goes out to you and the family.........

My heart goes out to you. I lost my adopted bichon Margie this July and my sweet baby Carly (also a bichon) last July. It still hurts every day when I think of her. She was only 10. Margie was almost 15. I have had dogs in my family my whole life, but for some reason, when I lost Carly last year it has been the worst loss ever. I cannot get over it. I know we'e supposed to just think about all the happiness they brought us and all the good times and that's supposed to help, but so far it still hurts so bad. She was my sweet little clown. I know you must feel the same about your girl.

What a sweet little face! Molly & Melly will get along well together. Beverly, I am SO sorry for your loss. All three of our dogs were given us to brighten our lives, so I suspect when the time is right for us to love another fur baby, another hound will show up (all three were hounds). In the meantime here's a {hug} in sympathy.

I am very sorry for your loss - I know the pain you're feeling. You were wonderful parents to your furkids, and they knew how loved they were. Molly is now free from pain and "grumpiness" - and I bet she has finally learnt how to play with all the other furkids at the bridge!

It is such a comfort to think of the Rainbow Bridge - the person who wrote that poem has given peace of mind and hope to countless animal lovers ... what a wonderful gift to us all.
