Not so good news...

Fred had PT today for his BPPV. The therapist said that she feels that he does not have BPPV because he does not show the symptoms for it. She is not a dr but she only does PT for people with Vertigo issues..so she knows what she is saying. She canceled Fred`s PT sessions and we are back to the drawing board.

What the heck is it???????

His results from the upper endoscopy do not come back until Wednesday.

This is stressing me out you guys. He is not getting better and they have no clue what is wrong with him at this point.

Hugs for you & Fred, and could the neuro think of anything else it could be?

He has not been to a Neuro yet. BUT (this is a good But...hehe) Two of the NICU Pediatricians and two of the head nurses in the hospital all said that they have major pull at Yale..and can get him an appointment with a certain Neuro there. (our medical insurance makes it so we do not need a referral).

I think Fred wants to wait until the gastro results come back.

I have been crying at the drop of a hat lately. I am not like this when it has to do with ME. I am stressed also because the magnitude of things I have to do all by myself now. He cannot bend over or move his head around much because it makes it worse. So I am doing it all. (dont start about the girls..you all know my girls and the majority of this generation are a lazy lot). I guess if I fall apart in the middle of the kitchen..they might help me.

Boy, I am spilling it huh?

Heidi, with all that's on your plate you certainly have the god-given right to fall apart whenever & wherever you need to, and you know we all love you here! As for your girls, they are probably scared and trying to opt out of all this; so it probably wouldn't hurt for y'all to sit down and have some hanging out of the laundry.

Heidi: Just catching up. So sorry to hear about Fred. I've suffered from vertigo and it is not fun. I hope they find some answers real soon, but I have a question..before the PT person cancelled his sessions did she consult with the dr. that ordered them. As we all know we don't all show "classic" symptons.

Hang in there, I totally understand what you are going thru, in my case right now we are getting run around for my youngest daughter's ailments. The frustration of dealing with a variety of specialist who don't seem to communicate with each other much less with the family can drive a person insane.

Adding you and Fred to my prayer list.

Peggi,

She had to do testing to guarantee he had what the said he had. I cannot tell you the name of the test but I have had it. They shoot water into your ears, and they cover your eyes. It tests how your brain, eyes, and inner ear react. He did not react at all..meaning his eyes did not do the back and forth motions.

He had one PT session with her, she consulted with ENT, so when Fred came back for second one, they told him that it was not going to help him.

I just push thru with a smile on my face and when I start to get peed off and/or in pain...I let loose on those two. They get all shocked and offended. But I have to say that Chelsea does do way more then she ever used to do. She helps with buying groceries, helps me shop for them, carry the bags in, she cooks and she cleans up. She can see (with her eyes..LOL) that I am struggling. She will do what her selfishness can provide..LOL'

Natalie..how do you make a spitting sound on here?

ROFL

She does nothing but waste air space right now. It is her last real summer. She looked for work but in our area..there is NOTHING for teenager for jobs. They are already taken by last years teens or they are filling positions with adults..so she tried.

School starts on Sept 7 and I cant wait to get rid of her for the day.

Love you but dislike you all the same.

Wow..some of you may think I hate my kids..but those of you that have known me the longest..know that is not true at all.

Okay..I am going to make strawberry jam today. It is cool and no humidity. Perfect time to not think about anything but canning.

Thanks all!

Again, I understand completely, even though my girls are grown and gone, there is still times I have to tell them, I love you but today I don't like you very much. LOL

I don't know about you, but even recently it dawned on me again, that although I thought I was showing by example to be tolerant, patient and caring, there are times I don't think either daughter picked up on it so back to scratching head and wondering just wth they did pick up, cause I swear some of the things they do just are totally beyond my comprehension. LOL

Heidii and Fred- so sorry things are not settled yet! I would just mention that a few years ago my best friend had a dizzy spell that came on suddenly.Everyone thought

sinus,(she always had sinus trouble)ear trouble -all kinds of stuff. And it ended up that she had had a stroke. It effected her eyes and made her sooooooooo dizzy. And it was

upsetting because she was an avid reader.Well everything totally went back to normal,

she has appoinments with her Neurologist once a year.Did Fred have a Cat yet?? Hope

the mystery clears up..it will sooner or later.Let's vote for sooner!! Still sending

prayers!!

Since some of you have asked, I figured I would let you know what is going on with Fred. We still do not know. He had an upper endoscopy done and he has an appointment today with the Gastro to get the results and see how he is doing.

The new meds for the acid reflux are working great..i know this because I hardly hear him burp anymore. He is still dizzy though. He THINKS that he is going to go back to work tomorrow. I hope he is right. Because he cannot stand being idle, I cannot stand it when I turn around and he is RIGHT there..ROFL (love him but he is bored so he is looking to me all the time), and we need the money that is missing from him not getting his shift differential.

He wanted to wait to see what the Gastro said before we proceeded so I am not pushing. But I already have it planned out. Going to make him an appointment with the ENT. If they do not know what is going on, then it is on to the Neuro.

So I am kinda going a bit batty around here. School starts soon. They will be out of my hair! I am used to having some alone time and when I do not get it, I get cranky.

I do not know how to consider this..

The biopsies came back negative. The Dr spotted a bulge in his stomach, the size of a pimple. (he showed us the picture) He biopsied the area, and it came back negative. He says that is because it is not on the surface of the stomach but actually inside the wall of the stomach.

Fred will have to go to Yale after all. He has to have a special biopsy done where they do an endoscopy with an ultrasound thingy so they can punch a piece or take the whole thing. Dr said it could be two things. A tumor or a fat deposit.

Let us hope it is the fat deposit.

He told us to not delay on having the test. Then Fred has to have a colonoscopy and a test that they do to check the middle section..another scan of some sort.

He told Fred to go to a Neuro. The bump in his gut explains all his symptoms except for the dizziness.

Lots of bloodwork also.

Lots of prayers too.

I made the stupid mistake of looking up about the test. The only thing that came up for that test was stomach cancer. I walked away from the computer after that.

They pushed up his colonoscopy and catscan to this coming Wednesday (they only had an opening until Oct. 1st). He got special help from one of the NICU OBs to get him into a good Neuro and he sees that Dr on Monday.

It is fortunate that his FMLA was accepted and he has plenty of sick time. If I had to worry about that also, i would be a basket case.

Everything is going quick quick now.

Edit: I got the information about the Dr at Yale that will do the procedure..Gastro/oncology.
