freakedolly
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if any of you could give me an idea as to how rare it is to come across the dollhouse made by Lawbre Company called OLD WESTBURY HALL. I inherited one of the 25 made when my grandma passed away over ten years ago. I cherish the house but it is way too large for my tiny home and I have many other smaller dollhouses to keep. The interior is finished and my grandma actually had it made larger than original specs. I have paperwork dated 6/26/1986. I must unfortunately sell the house and it's furniture (all handmade and signed/dated) which has all been removed. I am going with an art appraiser to help me sell the house and contents. He comes highly recommended. I was wondering if any of you would know how much the house should be valued at??? It just makes me nervous and I feel quite guilty about selling it in the first place! Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!
jrchob
The Great American Dollhouse Museum in Kentucky has five Lawbre dollhouses, the Old Westbury Hall being one of them. Maybe you could get some information about the value from the museum. Janet
freakedolly
Thank you Janet! I also located the Great American Dollhouse Museum site as well. It's about the only place I found info on the Old Westbury Hall so far!!!

Just One More
I would check with Lawbre. Are they still in business? I never could afford their things. Anyway...sometimes companies will buy things from their earlier days for their archives. Maybe they could give you an idea of its value also. I will be contacting the company sometime this week to see if they could give me more more details. Kerry
Kathe
Hello. I too have. Lawbre old west bury hall dollhouse that I would like to sell. Did you ever get any info regarding its value? Thanks kathe
fov
Hi Kathe, welcome to the forum. The original poster doesn't seem to have come back after this thread so I doubt she'll see your question. You should try contacting Lawbre and ask them. The pictures are gone, but an Old Westbury Hall sold on eBay for just over $3k in 2013: https://www.ebay.com/itm/321232150892 Its value may be more than that for the right buyer, but you'd have to find them. If you have a dollhouse miniatures shop near you, you might want to ask them for advice on how to approach it. Someone who knows miniatures will be in a better position to say its value than a general appraiser. Good luck!
Elsbeth
And don't forget Bonnie Broel's version for 98k: http://www.minibeargems.com/Dollhouse-House-By-Artist-Bonnie-Broel-English-Hunting-Lodge_p_8285.html
