Heidi, is your stair runner embroidered ribbon, or did you stitch it?  Your stairs are gorgeous!

Embroidered ribbon - from an Etsy shop -

Can you cut the pins off the rug holders and tack them with a spot of glue on each end? I've not used the bar things, but if you have them you should use them.

I agree, those stairs just weep for stair rods!

Looks fantastic!  It always amazes me how our members find all these little details on etsy.  I might have thought to add a runner but I never would have thought to look for a fancy ribbon on etsy.

I bit the bullet and attached my stair runner. Came out pretty nice. I have the Mini Mundus stair rods but attaching them is turning out to be a bear. They have long pins that  aren't easily pounded into the stair.

Anyone have success with them?

So lovely! Probably a dumb question, but did you try pre-drilling the holes?

I did cut the pins off one and glued it. I also contemplated drilling tiny holes. They would have to be very narrow, as these pins also narrow to a point. Like those tiny electrical brads that I long gave up trying to use. Just trying to decide the best method.

I watched someone on u-tube predrill tiny holes, put glue on them and use the back end of the tweezers to press them in, she did a whole line of hinges quite fast, I was amazed.  But the flat end  and pressing them in seemed to be much better then trying to tap them in.   Your rods really finish it off well!

Heidi, looks great!!

I'm in the flooring and wallpaper vortex...can't make a decision...again. I think I'll just try out an idea I have for flooring, and if I end up tossing it because it doesn't work, then so be it. That floor's not going to make itself! Also, I have many pages of wallpaper, only a few that will work for this build. Had wanted to do paint for the rest of the rooms, but found MORE wallpaper that may coordinate with what I've got. Buy or no buy? I have a fear of too much pattern, and can't decide which rooms NEED wallpaper....gah!

It looks just beautiful.  So does the wallpaper and flooring.  What did you use for the flooring Heidi?  I was thinking of some tiling like that for my entrance

The tile is like Mini Mica, these were cut by a man who has since retired, sold to me years ago by Designing Ways, called Tid-Bits. I did contact her recently and they are all long gone.

O, Keith, that is so totally awesome, and will look outstanding with the chair.  Will you do a sofa or futon like the chair?

Thanks a bunch Holly.  I thought about doing a loveseat like the chair design.
