Sivin
Hi, I'm seeking interior window fittings for the DuraCraft Columbian, a picture of which is in my gallery. I am rehabbing this house and the original fittings were too decrepit to keep. I would rather have ready made than do it myself. Thank you. havanaholly
You can always go with Houseworks components, and either enlarge the window openings or use shims and scrapwood to make them smaller to fit whatever you get; otherwise you can make nonworking windows for it. sparklepuppies
I've got the same house to rehab, and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to get them off as well. The curved windows will make it a little challenging to make with wood. So perhaps you could cut them out of posterboard, then layer 2 or 3 layers to get the thickness you need. Are you talking about actual windows or how to hang new curtains/drapes? thanks, LindaC
Sivin
Hi, I appreciate the input! LindaC, I am talking about the trim around the inside of the windows, the sill, etc. If the windows were rectangular or square, I could easily make the fittings, but the tops of the windows are arched and I would rather obtain something already made. Thanks!
havanaholly
I had to make all new frames for all the Pierce's windows & doors, mini of which are arched (except all the oval windows) and I wound up tracing around the edge of the opening and measuring up from the line to draw a second curved parallel line and then traced the pattern onto 1.8" basswood boards and used my utility knife and a VERY steady hand to cut them out.
