LucyInTheSky
Hello~ My mother owned a dollhouse store for a good many years, and still has several of her favorite setups left over. She's hoping to move on, this year, to a well-earned retirement with the love of her life- but they'll be downsizing to living in an RV, and obviously she can't take the miniatures and dollhouses with her! I'm looking for someone who can direct me to a place where we could donate these items, or who would be willing to purchase them? These finished products are lovingly made, complete and fully furnished, and include: *Two mercantile stores (one in an antique box featured in the burning of the train station scene, from Gone With the Wind) *Greenleaf Pierce Victorian dollhouse, 36x24 L-shape house (Built 1986, exterior recently redone in hand-pounded slate) *A Christmas-theme dollhouse (fully furnished) *A Native-American campsite diorama, in a closed box (roombox) *English drawing room in a Chinese glass box (roombox) *A half-inch scale beach house *A men's home-office roombox (w/ mahogany and wingback chairs) If anyone is interested in seeing pictures, or can direct me to an interested third-party, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks~
havanaholly
Can't have dollhouses in an RV? I've built two of them while on RV camping trips (described in my sections of the Team Glencroft and Team Orchid building blogs) and I remember a member of Small Stuff who built her houses & roomboxes in a smaller camper than ours! And you ought to keep at least one of these for yourself to play with.
KathieB
Susan, you might check around to see what charity organizations might hold auction fundraisers in your area and donate one or more to such an auction. An organization might be happy to accept one dollhouse or a couple of room boxes so as not to overload their offerings. You can also try putting them on your local Craig's List, since I'm sure you're not going to want to be shipping these. These may do well at a general auction. You might want to contact auctioneers in your area who accept items from individuals (as opposed to those who do estate auctions), You can always put a minimum on them if it doesn't appear they will sell well. Rhonda
This is a very good cause and while the houses you describe are more for adults perhaps there are a few items that can be donayed to this cause. https://m.facebook.com/pages/Dollhouses-For-Kids-Battling-Cancer/112973362090634?id=112973362090634&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Furl&_rdr
kat57
This lady is a member of the forum,Ann New York,I think-? And I believe she builds the houses she donates herself from donated kits...She can't or won't take donations,if I read right-? I ran across her houses in the galleries the other day. She does some fantastic work!!! But,it is a sweet thought to donate them somewhere....

LucyInTheSky
The shopkeeper was quite the seller in my store. You can paint his face and hair and remove his apron for a different look. Plus he origainally had glasses.
