nikapaints
Hi everyone! I have an etsy store where I sell hand-painted miniatures of works by famous artists like Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and others (as well as some original work). I also take requests for paintings if there's a specific one you'd like that's not in the store. All of the paintings are hand-painted by me one 2inx2in canvas, and are one of a kind. It would be great if you would check it out! https://www.etsy.com/shop/nikatimedesigns Thank you! Nika
rackey
The originals of these paintings are works of art, but to be able to paint them in miniature takes that talent one step further. - Good luck with your Etsy store.
CheckMouse
My aunt is an artist and many years ago asked her to paint me one in miniature. She did a beautiful job with waterfall/woodland scene, which I treasure highly. However, she said it was the hardest painting she had ever done! The big ones were much easier than the tiny ones
nikapaints
Thank you so much, rackey! CheckMouse, your aunt is so right! The minis are quite a pain (literally, so much hand cramping!) and take a surprisingly long time to do! It's wonderful she was able to paint something for you that you still treasure years later
havanaholly
Are you painting in oils or acrylics? Your work is lovely.
nikapaints
Thank you, havanaholly I use oil paint. The paintings generally require a lot of layering and blending, and acrylics dry too fast for me to be able to do that to the extent that I need to. nikapaints
I've finished up a Picasso! I thought it was going to be way more difficult than it ended up being. This is the first painting I did with my tiny brushes...I'm still getting used to the feel of them.
havanaholly
Do you find that the new brushes give you better control and more detail? Your painting certainly looks sharp and crisp.
Selkie
Looks like you have truly found your niche. Maybe you'll do some originals at some point too, yes???
