Dollhouse or Mini Sources in Oregon?

So I live on the Oregon Coast and my family lives in Portland. Does anyone know of any shops that carry dollhouses or miniature supplies? I had to pass a shop in Lincoln City ( I think) that had dollhouses displayed in the windows, but I was on a business trip, and could not stop to check it out!

I know there's a big dollhouse/ miniatures show in Portland in Sept., put on by the same people who do the really big Seattle show. You might rub elbows with the great Rik Pierce who lives in Vancouver Wa. I grew up in the willamette valley and one of my friends from school put the carpet down in his new house lol :) I know there are decent shops in the Seattle area but I think the one in Portland closed down. Morgan will know for sure, she lives in the area.

I'm a bit north of you, in WA, but even here I don't know of any brick-and-mortar dollhouse stores. I do all my shopping online. There used to be a really nice one in Edmonds, but it closed several years ago. If you find one in the Portland area, let us know. I get down that way sometimes and would definitely stop in!

Just a suggestion....if you do find some on an online search, do yourself a favor and call first to be sure theyre still in business. When I moved to my new area there were 3 or 4 promising sounding "dollhouse" shops listed. Two turned out to be escort services and only one of the actual dollhouse shops was still in business. Good luck, and I envy you, how I miss the Oregon coast...

Yea, Emily, you saw your one and only miniatures store in Lincoln City. Rocking Horse Mall has had the dollhouse store for 40+ years. The owner is super nice.

In September there should be a mini show in Portland. It's fun. And in Vancouver, Country Store Miniatures operates out of a barn I believe, by appointment. They used to have a brick and mortar store but it closed. And that's it.

Where are you on the coast? I am easy of Portland and make at least 4 trips to Seaside a month if you find something on craigslist.

Karin your story made me laugh, but I would have been plenty upset if I drove miles to go to a dollhouse shop only to find out is was an escort service. :D So thanks for your words of advice.

I was in Portland once and found it to be a vey nice city. I really enjoyed the American Advertising Museum, and the only thing that could have made the trip better would have been if I was there during the miniature show.

I am in Portland area, and I know of nothing. There used to be Country Store Miniatures in Vancouver WA (30 min drive with traffic) - but I believe it is online only now. Every now and then a consignment shop has overpriced miniatures.

I think most of us just do online (craigslist finds) or wait for the AMAZING (I love it!) mini show we have annually.

I'm glad I read this thread - I will look for the Aurora shop, and now I know Rik Pierce is around my 'hood.

Yeah and that TV show "Dollhouse" didn't help my Google searches either.

Country store miniatures is still in business! I was there last weekend. You just have to find her number online by searching Country store miniatures Vancouver in Google and then make an appointment. You just goto her house and they have a shack out back. It's awesome!!  She had everything, furniture, building stuff, wallpaper, everything. So much good mini stuff!!!

This is an old thread, but I'm interested; we plan to move from Arizona to the Oregon coast in the next year (ooooh, moisture!)

Are there any mini clubs on the coast?  Shops? Shows?  Is Portland the only option?

Any mini makers who might want to get together to start a club?

It's not hard, you just start getting together and more people show up.  No need for officers or rules...  I helped start a club in Hawaii, and it's been going strong for 17 years, even though most of the founding members are gone, and I don't think we ever had more than 8 members at once.

Wow, this is an old thread- and happy to say since it was originally written I have moved back to Oregon! The only shop left here is in Lincoln City, on the coast. It was mentioned in this thread, it’s within a store called Rocking Horse Mall. I have visited and they do have quite a lot of items so definitely worth going. There is at least one day of the week - Wednesday or Thursday- I forget which, that they are closed, so check first.
Im a member of Eugene Miniatures Club, which does have members from the coast area and even Portland. We do several meetings per month on zoom and several in person, as well as sharing emails and projects with each other- so it is an active club. Vast amount of collective knowledge and one of our members is an IGMA artisan.
Aside from that, the Portland miniatures show is in September this year.

Google search for  Eugene Miniatures Club and Portland Miniatures show.
