Minis On The Edge

that she was standing in her yard looking across a swirling mist at another house and Peggi was standing in her doorway; to her right was another house with a very confused Deb peering out of her window, and off to the seft was Tracy on her porch, and in all directions as they turned to look there were the houses of all the 1389 forum members.

Cupping her hands and yelling in what her DH called her loudest "parade ground" voice she called out, "Can y'all hear me?" and immediately everyone within earshot (not quite ALL 1389, but the closest ones) waved and started calling out to each other. The first order of business seemed to be to try to get together to figure out

A mountain of flat boxes...all labeled Greenleaf..."Wow", she thought..."I stumbled upon the mother load." Only when she started tearing open the boxes she found something rather strange...instead of wooden parts, she found the first box contained a spongy squishy material...the second was filled with glass...the third contained....

.......Vintage Greenleaf dollhouses. When a person looked insdie the box, it was empty but if you reached your hand down the box, out pulled that persons favorite discontinued kit by greenleaf!! There was so much excitment in the air!

Irene, Holly, Peggi and Tracy were close to the mountain of boxes and started asking everyone to form a line so they could reach in the box and pull out there dream house.

The first person reached in and pulled out a.........

Brimble's Mercantile. Several more forum members, watching from afar, came running over (since they were all in this strange new neighborhood) and began making suggestions.

Glen and Andrew gathered all the other male members to bash the Garfield into a combination of Windsor Castle and the Taj Mahal and use it as a base for the 1:12 scale GI Joe action figures.

The ladies continued pulling their favorite discontinued kits out of the box and Deb suggested they build their kits into a mini city (with nearly 1400 forum members this actually would be easier than it looks) and she and Peggi started looking for supplies, which they found in

Paint! Whilst everyone else was doing paint searches on ebay Teresa found a sale going on at Ace Hardware on all their little sample paint jars, but Andrew refused to go along, saying that the pricier Benjamin Moore samples were tastier and less filling. Everyone put the question to a vote and

Glinda...the good witch! She said in a tinkling laughing voice..."I have been sent by the Munchkins with a message for you all....There is NO bad paint in Munchkinland...and they have extended an invitation to you all to come and play." Our gang looked at each other in amazement! "What shall we do, stay or go with Glinda?" asked Tracy...

But before they could put it to a vote Glinda began to wave her magic wand and pixiedust fell like snow.

"Quick, everybody," yelled Deb, "click your heels together..." and everyone began to click their heels together three times and chant "there's no place like home, there's no place like home" and stayed where they were. However, the charter members of the LOSHBB, being the macho men they were, wouldn't be caught dead engaging in such sissy nonsense and they were all whisked away in Glinda's magic bubble to the great Munchkin city in the merry old land of Oz where Peter was gathering goodies to BBQ on Christmas Day.

The rest of the forum members eagerly began to test the various paint brands on the various bashes.

"look here," said Peggi, "I've bashed the travel trailer with the Beacon Hill and it looks like

a Red Neck's idea of Heaven  :) After pondering whether to add junk cars to the yard, it dawn on the female members that they may go and see if the LOSHBB were still floating around in the bubble. Members split up and went in different directions to see if they could find them. The first group to see them were Deb, Holly, Tracy, Irene and Carol. Even though they couldn't hear them, they could tell they were yelling something--it didn't seem to be help. The girls glanced at each other to see if anyone understood, then it dawned on them when they saw a big pointed stick in Deb's hand--the guys were yelling....

"Hey, will you WATCH where you're aiming that thing?!?" as sparks flew from Deb's magic paintbrush!

The sparks hit, the bubble popped, and two of the falling guys temporarily were transformed into newts who landed easily and scuttled off into the underbrush, where they resumed their usual, manly, dazzlingly attractive forms.

The rest of the falling fellows landed with thuds, but by the end of five minutes, all were fine, if slightly green-hued, due to on-the-spot medical care provided by the GI Joe MASH/Munchkin SWAT's EMT unit.

Shaken, but not stirred by their experience, the band of bold adventurers took stock. They deliberated over whether to add some home appliances or upholstered furniture yard art to the Winnebeacon, and were co-ordinating their watches and compasses, when a stream of fire streaked across the skies of Oz. Looking up, they were hearted to see that it was ...

Teresa, who had found the Wicked Witch of the West's old broomstick and taken it for a joy ride. She landed, and Peggi immediately snatched it and Deb used her magic paintbrush to shrink it to 1/12 its size so Peggi could place it on the front porch of her Winnebeacon.

Even the LOSHBB decided it'd be fun to take a building break and make mini items to help Peggi furnish & equip this monument to the good taste that all "Grits" (Girls Raised In The South) share and Glen, Andrew & Peter came up with

an even better idea. Before everyone knew it and were adding the last finishing touches to Peggi's and all the other wonderful kit bashes, Santa Clause rode up in his sleigh and everyone had the same thought at once; so Santa popped all their houses into his magical sack and took everyone onto his sleigh, and as he delivered the wonderful houses to all the Ronald McDonald Houses and nursing homes in the land, he dropped each miniaturist off at his or her house in time to celebrate with their families and friends.

Unfortunately, the festivities didn't last nearly long enough....suddenly all of our friends and their families heard a big booming voice saying "HELLO!!! ALL" By now, our mini pals, were used to the strange and unusual happenings...but their families were terrified!! They ran screaming from the holiday celebrations. The booming voice continued..."We are just about out of time...and I need your help..." It turns out that the voice belonged to Father Time and he wanted...
