I'd be tempted to pick up a finished one if the interior was done to my liking...I like the overall look of this house, I like how it appears to be a bit rambling from the outside.

However, I don't know how to get a formal diningroom AND a kitchen into that first floor. Not for lack of space, but the layout appears to be two large rooms with the stairs between them. I'm a sucker for 3 or 4 rooms (kitchen, living, dining, library or big stairway/hall)  with hall between them. I like this house tho.

I would have no problem putting in dividers or walls to make separate rooms.

But it seems like the kitchen would be so small on the end - unless you do a front divider that then needs to be removed to rearrange furniture, or just provides a peek into the next room. I think I have seen some people put walls on the smaller side parts of the house - those rooms seem so tiny. And that house needs a grand kitchen. Well - I'd like to see one in person anyway. Some day.

You could always bash the first floor to make more rooms.

The seller says this is a mid 1800s house....but the material looks more like 1950s to me. What do you think? My first thought was 1960s.

Some elements could be that old, thinking of that one loose door.  The windows are gone and some child went cocopuffs with stickers.  It would be worth a rehab, but I wouldn't want to try for a total restoration!

All 4 kits/shells for $160. Wow.

Alison Jr is one of them.

That's a pretty great deal.. even if you just wanted the kits.

The purple shell looks like a duracraft crestview.. not sure what the other one is but looks like a farmhouse of some sort. It looks familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

Always fun to look at shopgoodwill.com:

Beacon Hill kit for $15 (at the moment - bids still going):

"Uncounted pieces" scares me.

This little fixer for $10:

So I found something on ebay that I really like - but price was high. I hit the "make an offer" button and calculated a 75% discount with free shipping.

Seller accepted!

That discount saved me hundreds of dollars! I feel like the price I offered was realistic and I knew this item had been on ebay for 2 months. So it is always worth a shot...I don't think it is insulting to lowball when you have an idea what the market is like. And I felt like it was a fair lowball - not one of those screwball lowball "$5" offers that a non-miniaturist would make for a museum piece because they think it's just a toy.

The Goodwill site has become one of my favorite sites to watch! lol

Haha!! Me too. I check it daily. Had a few bids in but I did not win.  I did win a Greenleaf furniture kit.  The doll house items can get pretty high on bids.  You have to control yourself.

I was telling a friend about that site. Everything is donation..right? Have you seen some of the items they are offering for auction? Who just gives away that expensive stuff?  And why are they not my friend? Lol

Quite an amazing OOAK house... It's not cheap and I would have to do sooo much to it to make it as I would want it.. but it's fun to look at. :)

I love it. But...I was hoping to see some nicer gleaming wood floors in it. Lots of carpet and what looks like checkerboard paper.

I think the outside is marvelous and fun. I'd be tempted...
