smjsome Posted February 4, 2016 Share Posted February 4, 2016 i was on vacation, visiting friends in NM, stopping and seeing my daughter, and my husband bought a house for me off craigslist. $45.00. when I got home I discovered it has a bag with the stair pieces, porch pieces, and railings too. It also has the instructions, which says it's the Newport '97. It was built by a guy with his kids about 15 years ago, and they played with it until they grew out of it. my question is - the tower doesn't have the opening I see on some, is that normal? kathi17 Posted February 5, 2016 Share Posted February 5, 2016 I don't have the Newport, but it looks like the back wall of the tower roof was supposed to come off to access a room inside. My Apple Blossom is like that. On the Apple Blossom, it's not that easy to get the back roof on and off once it's shingled. (Well, it comes off, but it's difficult to get it back on again). Possibly it is the same for the Newport, and the guy just glued it on. If you want it to open, you can try heating it to see if you can get the glue to release so you can redo it.
