Luanne
Bottom of page 1 of The Wall Street Journal today featured a story about train model. From Sedona, AZ a real estate investor Verryl Fosnight has a 4000 square feet worth of train model and an employee to take care of them. ...Once a month he has an open house for people who want to operate his trains. Do you know any one who has this much minis for for their collection?
rodentraiser
I think I have a 2000 sq ft dollhouse. Does that count? By the way, I love train sets. Do you have a link?
Elsbeth
Pretty sure I have 4000 sq ft of miniatures, but only 400 square feet to store them in. I'd love more room for minis! I assume the employee is part-time? Must be a fun job for someone.
KathieB
I don't even have a 4000 sq ft real house!

It sure would be fun to have a building big enough to arrange a bunch of houses and stores around a big train layout though!

Luanne
2000 square feet of minis? Wow! It's a full time employee who describes himself as " a model railroad super geek." I only have the paper, not the online membership for the article. Here are a few things I have found. It's HO scale. http://ourrvadventures.com/2015/06/sedona-and-wyoming/ http://verrylvfosnightjr.slickpic.com/albums/WyomingDivisionHOOperationLayout/?wallpaper
smjsome
Wow! I prefer not to know just how much I have. When I read, do you have 4,000 sq feet, my first thought was, probably, but thinking it out, hopefully not! when my son in law encourages my hobby, I remind him, one day, this will all be yours!
Dalesq
Sure do! In 1:24 scale!
jbnmini
Wow! That is just pretty cool! We have a model train club in my town and every Christmas season they have Open House sessions for the public to view their lay-out....which is tiny compared to this one! It's going to take just two guys YEARS to get this lay-out finished!
havanaholly
We have a 500 square foot workshop that a little over half is actually mine and the rest is DH's (but he doesn't hardly ever go there to play).

Luanne
Ah! Thanks for clearing that up. I checked out your gallery with the small roombox and the Rose shop. They are lovely.
Selkie
We have an HO layout that is equal to two and a half sheets of plywood in an L shape. Seems pitifully small compared to this one but we love it. Love going to train shows and shops too.
Luanne
I love my 1:144 beach house scene and it's in a Spaghetti sauce jar. So your set up is very massive to me. There is a Lego land in the mall here that has a great train set up. My favorite was the house that appears to be on fire, it has red blinking lights and fire trucks around it. But anyway, thanks! Now if I could just finish The Rose Shop.........
