Thomastourist
Hi,I've just rescued (bought) complete set of Del Prado Dream Doll's house. This was sold a few years ago,in the UK at least,at newsagents in 100 parts with a magazine,an expensive way to build a house!I don't know if I will make it up as each panel could not be larger than the mag it came with and I think it might not be rigid. It comes with some nice furniture and lights so I might just keep them.My question is this, has anyone here made this and have you any tips? Thanks in advance. havanaholly
I remember a lengthy thread on Small Stuff Digest, I think it was, on the pros & cons o the Del Prado houses. I think if you use the wall pieces as templates and reinforce them with thin obeche or balsa it might help.
Soapz
Thomas, there are several blogs with the finished house: Italian - English one Dutch website - use translate function German Blog 1 German Blog 2 I think Prado uses these corner pieces like corona - should be sturdy enough if you mount it on a solid baseplate

Thomastourist
Thanks, all.Plenty to read there. This was the earlier Del Prado house which definitely needed a base. The one I picked up today is an improvement and the furniture is better but I'll have to think whether it's worth the effort before I commit. kathi17
I don't have that house, but it reminds me of the house I am building now. Mine is from DeAgostini, and is a Japanese inn and spa. It was sold on subscription in Japan and Italy. The Japanese one, which I have was in 110 installments, and the Italian one came in 120 installments. From looking at those blogs, the one I am building looks to be a better quality, but it looks like your kit is modular the way mine is. I'm actually enjoying building it this way. I like modular building better, and I love having so many accessories included. The Del Prado house looks like fun, and the furniture looks quite nice. If you decide to build it, it will be fun to watch your progress!
Elsbeth
I love the idea of modular roombox kits that fit together to eventually form a house.
