Lucille Kreps
Hi! I was lucky enough to find this hand made caned rocker recently and was wondering if anyone has any information about the artist? It is signed "JKD 83" . I have been attempting to photo catalog my artisan mini collection and try to put the artist's full name ect wherever possible. I haven't used an online forum in years so we will see if I'm able to figure out posting the picture! havanaholly
That is an exquisite piece! Ferd Sobol did a series of pictorial articles for The American Miniaturist and one of them showed the caning process.
Lucille Kreps
At Ferd's table in Chicago, he had a sample of the caning in progress there to show people - it was pretty cool! I've been obsessed with caned pieces lately and this rocking chair I found is so perfect in every way : )
KathieB
Lucille, that rocking chair is beautiful. I hope someone can put a name to the initials. The artist certainly deserves credit.

eskava
That is a beautiful chair. I googled Jacqueline Kerr Deiber and found that she wrote an instruction manual for Nutshell News called "Caned Caned Collectables.
havanaholly
She may very well be the one who made the rocking chair.
