Luanne Posted May 25, 2016 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Hi guys, I am so bummed out. For some reasons, half of my tape wired lights are operating at 20% capacity. These are plug in to an outlet, not battery operated, and they are old school lights, not LED's. These were installed when I built the house in 2007 or so. Some of them flicker slightly at times. They were not designed to flicker. I am most concerned about the brightness issue. Have you heard this before? Will they be back to normal brightness with use? Do they need to be used daily for a certain required timeframe to be maintained? What's happening? How did you fix this if you had this issue? Thanks for any diagnosis and suggestions. Here they are at 100% brightness capacity. mesp2k Posted May 25, 2016 Share Posted May 25, 2016 I'm thinking the branch of tape wire going to the dim side of the house may have lost some contact point between a brad & section of tape wire. If it was 2007 & the tape wiring was still exposed you could test the connections & track down the problem. No clue on fix? Hmm...replace with battery lights? It was my 1st house, I remember consulting with Miniatures.com by email about the transformer. Yes the bulbs are replaceable and as of this moment I am thinking battery lights are a good idea for future projects. I'll check out the connection as well. Thanks again. The transformer is labelled to power up to 16 bulbs, the house has 10. Thanks for thinking this through with me! I am grateful as always. L.
