Beacon Hill Stairs Upgrade

Recommended Posts

I am purchasing balusters/railing etc for the staircases to replace the ones that come with the kit. Just wondering if anyone who's done this before can tell me approx. how many I will need! Would 5 packs of 12 spindles (i.e 60) be enough for all the staircases? Also how many newel posts and how much railing did you use?

Thanks! :cheezy:

Well let's see here:

spindles: 5+11(1st flr staircase)+9(2nd flr landing)+(however many steps on the 2nd flr staircase)+5(3rd flr landing)

newel: 3+5(1st flr staircase)+4(2nd flr landing)+1+4(3rd flr landing)

railing: at least a couple 18" lengths

Hope this helps. I always add on a few pieces and inches to make sure I have enough.
