shamrockgirl18
Those of you who have built roomboxes from scratch: Did you make a plain 'ceiling' (like another flat wall) or did you make a ceiling with a roof, to make it look more decorative on the exterior? I love how small and simple my little geisha's tea room is, and I did the exterior walls in bamboo so that the outside would look nice. She doesn't have a ceiling yet though and even though it'd be easy to just get another piece of foam board, cut it to size, and attach it to the top, a flat roof isn't really going to look nice or realistic from the outside. Do you know what I mean? Do you have any suggestions/advice on how to make a simple roof for a roombox?
havanaholly
If you want to make a traditional curved Japanese roof, what about chipboard and corrugated cardboard with one of the top layers removed so the corrugations are exposed?
Minis On The Edge
Those are some good ideas Holly!
shamrockgirl18
Thanks for the ideas. I love the look of the traditional Japanese roof. Chipboard would be too heavy I think because the walls are just thin foam board, but maybe I could do something with more foam board and cardboard. I'll need to do some scavenging I think to find some stuff to make the peaks in the center.
