My altered Orchid is coming along. Floor is down, paper up and wainscotting is done.

One way it to use Spackle/polyfilla/wallboard mud with a palette knife or a piece of flexible plastic (think credit card) to spread it. It can be a rough or as smooth as you want it.

Yes! It is so well matched that I didn't even notice it the first time I looked at the photos. :)

For the spakle I just spread my polyfil on with a knife,  When dry, I painted it pale green,  When dry, painted cream and wiped it off in places.  Then when dry, I used a tiny bit of antiquing glaze.   For the gable it is just shingles like doing a roof.  Hope this helps.   Thanks for all the kind comments on the wallpaper.   Though next time i will do the walls before i put it together lol
