tilliejam62
I'm looking for a source, (web store) to purchase some Victorian wall molding, trim, windows and doors, columns, etc. I am working on a little girl's nursery room box and I need these items for just the great wall in the room. See the attached photo - but nothing elaborate and costly as that. I will be using wallpaper on just that wall as well and want to add a few pieces of Victorian trim, molding, columns and maybe 2 windows. I normally shop online for minis at Dollhouse Miniatures.com and Dollhouse Junction but I could not find theses type items (not to my liking anyway). Any recommendations? havanaholly
I have found that scrapbook embellishments, paper lace and beads used in various combinations and covered in a single color of paint go a long, long way towards achieving that sort of look.
tilliejam62
Thanks for your input Holly - If I can just find those windows and similar panels like those that surround them in wood or plastic I would be very happy. I think I will go to the Handley House suppliers but they won't sell to me without a business license but I think they can tell me which retailers I can buy from. havanaholly
Or you could make them from matboard building up your layers and using small skewers for the vertical elements.
Sable
I am creating a girl's pink room, also, yet mine is modern but with the same shade of pink. I believe the rails are half rounds. Try this site, and I believe they will do custom work. Some puff paint might give it more texture. http://heritagelaserworks.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=
Sable
If you follow Robin Carey, the above site has some of her styles in a collection. The left one might work for your purpose. http://heritagelaserworks.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=54_70
havanaholly
If you have the budget for buying ready made, there's Lawbre: http://www.lawbre.com/ and here's another possibility: http://swanhousediy.com/site/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1
Elsbeth
Look at Unique Miniatures architectural details --http://earthntree.com/miniatures/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=82&sort=20a&page=2&zenid=905f5e2f9cb74acdfc2beb0fc167d2f5 They have molded columns and some great ornate trims to dress up walls. And definitely look at Michaels and Joann.com for scrapbook embellishments --some great ones out there.

tilliejam62
Jenn: I have been checking out all the sites recommended by you and others. I am going with Earth and Tree Miniatures & Dollhouses because they had everything I could possibly need and their prices are superb for my "pocketbook". Can you post a photo of your paneled room box please? I need all the inspiration I can get for my project. I've purchased many of the items that are going into the nursery but will need a few more pieces.

tilliejam62
I thank you too Sam. I was very, very impressed with Replicast and even talked with them via email about what I was looking for and "LIKED" them on Facebook so I couls see the fabulous photos they have posted there. So between them and Earth And Tree web site I think I will find all that I'm searching for. The only problem right now is finding a place that sell false - fake windows. I see false doors all over the place but no false windows? Any leads on windows?
fov
Why not use real windows? You can put in a false wall made of foam core to accommodate the depth of the windows, and then put a scene behind them. If the windows were flat against the wall it wouldn't have the same depth. Here are pics of a roombox I did that way, using regular Houseworks windows: Here's how I did it: http://www.emilymorganti.com/blog/?p=7733
Guest
Here are a couple that might work. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dolls-House-White-Plastic-Georgian-Tall-Arched-Window-16-Pane-1-12-DIY-Builders-/381804307690?hash=item58e54f64ea:g:jcMAAOSwXyVYJkvn http://www.manchesterwoodworks.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3329&search=palladian This is the wholesaler of the above window. He has a larger range and you can search stockists on his site. http://www.alessiominiatures.com/windows.html You could also try searching for scrapbooking die cut embellishments. They make laser & die cut windows from everything from cardstock to chipboard to laser cut wood. Make sure to check the measurements carefully before purchasing though because they are not made to any particular scale. Some will work, some wont. Here's an ebay link, but you will likely find a larger range at online craft/scrapbooking stores. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=palladian+window&LH_PrefLoc=2&_osacat=11788&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xarched+window.TRS0&_nkw=arched+window&_sacat=11788 Sorry I've been assuming all this time you are working in 1:12?
