miniaddicted
I mistyped, this is master bedroom. Here's the link to the post about the room that I saw this paper in. http://john-merrimanpark.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-master-bedchamber-revealed.html I could do wainscoting I guess. Debsrand56
I can see what drew you to it in the Merriman Park house. It is very pretty paper. I like it better than the other two choices (not crazy about the pink, and the blue and white seems a little cold). I agree with the people who suggested wainscoting, but maybe only half-way up the wall. It would tone things down a little, but still keep enough of the pretty design. Sable
In the example you've shown, a good percentage of the paper is covered by Art, furniture and other accessories so the paper does become an accent. So it should be fine.
Elsbeth
I think it is fine without wainscoting...as posted earlier, if you keep it busy with furniture/art/fireplace like the Merriman example, it'll be fine. I love it.
shannonc60
This is an older house right? Everything was over the top. Toile was often used on literally everything in a room, so if you like the full walls in toile (like me), then go with it. If you have run short, you could put panelling on the other wall/s or plain paint.
Guest
If you have to re-paper.. I like the blue toile... Love a good blue toile!
